"Y'all being lazy as s**t": Colorado OL Kahlil Benson calls out teammates for underperforming in offseason workouts

Colorado offensive lineman Kahlil Benson isn’t holding back his frustrations. The 6-foot-5, 325-pound tackle, who transferred to Boulder after the 2023 season, has been working tirelessly in training.

However, it seems his teammates aren’t matching his intensity, and Benson has had enough. During a practice, Benson took it upon himself to address the issue.

"They just said we going full speed but y'all ain't doing full speed. Stop being soft, man," he shouted, rallying his teammates to step up their game.

His outburst was captured by Well Off Media, showcasing Benson’s dedication and frustration. Benson, who allowed just one sack in nearly 800 snaps last year, sees laziness as a serious issue.

"Y'all being lazy as s**t," he warned. "If y'all not going to sprint off the ball, that's f*cking lazy, bro. That's going to get our a*s kicked."

His passionate plea is a call to action for the Buffs O-line, who need to shake off the sluggishness that Deion Sanders has tried to eradicate from the team culture.

Will Colorado's offensive line revamp be enough?

Deion Sanders revamped Colorado's offensive line to protect quarterback Shedeur Sanders and transform their offensive game in 2024. But is that enough? Coach Prime is determined to ensure it is.

Last season, Shedeur endured relentless pressure as the most sacked quarterback in the nation, a situation Coach Prime vowed to change.

“The big picture is you get new linemen,” Sanders declared. “That’s the picture and I’m going to paint it perfectly.”

The 2024 roster boasts several key additions through the transfer portal, enhancing Colorado's O-line. These transfers include Justin Mayers, Tyler Johnson and Kahlil Benson from Indiana. Anchoring this bolstered line is returning sophomore center Hank Zilinskas and incoming tackle Jordan Seaton.

The improved depth of the offensive line is another critical factor. As noted by On3 national recruiting analyst Phillip Dukes, the depth ensures that even with inevitable injuries, the team can maintain a high level of play. With this new outlook, the Buffs' offensive strategies are set for a transformation.
