"Probably just came up with a fun new TikTok idea with his gf": Fans draw wild assumptions to Carson Beck smiling amid Georgia's crushing defeat
On Saturday, the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs tasted defeat at the hands of the No. 16 Ole Miss Rebels. While the first setback (41-34 loss) against the No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide didn’t shake fans too much, Saturday's 28–10 loss has triggered widespread frustration.
Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck became the center of attention on social media when a clip surfaced of him smiling on the bench late in the game. With just three minutes left and Georgia down, Beck was seen laughing with a teammate, stirring reactions across the fanbase.
Fans speculated about Beck’s focus on X, formerly Twitter, with some linking his smile to his girlfriend, Hanna Cavinder, a University of Miami basketball player.
“of course he is, taking his Lamborghini to see his girlfriend in a bit,” a fan tweeted.
“Thinking about tik tok dances,” another tweeted.
“His girlfriend has the Lamborghini warmed and filled for a quick exit!” One tweeted.
Beck and Cavinder confirmed their relationship over the summer after rumors circulated. Now, some fans connect Beck’s performance dip this season—marked by more interceptions and a lower completion rate—to off-field distractions, adding to the buzz around Georgia’s disappointing loss.
Georgia QB Carson Beck isn’t shying away from taking ownership
Carson Beck isn’t shying away from taking ownership of his recent performance against Florida, where he threw three interceptions in the Dawgs' 34–20 win over the Gators. Unfazed by online trolls, Beck focused on accountability, admitting he needs to make better choices on the field.
“It’s just an in-game decision-making thing,” Beck said postgame on Nov. 2 [H/t Sporting News]. “I think there’s times where it’s okay to throw it away if it’s not there. And I think that’s something that I did a lot better of last year. I made two bad decisions. So I tried to make a play, scramble out, didn’t see the guy underneath. And then we don’t get the check down now, probably should go to the check down on the second one.”
“Don’t see that guy, he falls underneath the in-cut. On the third one, I get hit while I’m throwing, which I keep saying this is part of the game. And obviously, it’s really difficult to move on from that. But that’s what we do. That’s what I do.”
Despite a challenging season, Georgia has a strong path to the playoffs. With a 7–2 record, the Bulldogs are in good standing, even with a recent loss to Ole Miss.
ESPN’s playoff predictor gives Georgia a 99% chance of making it if it wins against Tennessee, UMass, and Georgia Tech and skips the Southeastern Conference Championship Game. If it makes it to the championship game but falls short, its odds dip slightly to 90%.
The Dawgs' journey to the playoffs remains wide open, but Beck and his teammates have shown they aim to finish strong.
