#10. Cam Ward, Miami

A transfer from Washington State, Ward is part of an ambitious transfer portal haul by Mario Cristobal. Ward threw for 3,732 yards and 25 touchdowns last season. The Hurricanes have an outstanding receiving corps, a talented running back, and all the weapons to make Ward an even bigger star.

#9. Jalon Daniels, Kansas

A dual-threat star, Daniels missed most of 2023 with injuries. He passed for 2,014 yards and 18 scores in 2022 while rushing for another 425 yards. With the Jayhawks on the uptick, Daniels is a player to watch in 2024.

#8. Riley Leonard, Notre Dame

A transfer from Duke, Leonard is in a different world at Notre Dame. As a Blue Devil, he threw for over 4,400 yards and rushed for over 1,200 more over three seasons. Leonard has had some serious injury issues, but if he can remain healthy, he's one of the best QBs in the nation.

#7. Cam Rising, Utah

The only thing holding Rising back is a history of injuries. He missed the 2023 season, but did throw for 3,034 yards and 26 scores in 2022. If Rising can lead Utah to a Big 12 title, he could end up as a Heisman candidate.

#6. Shedeur Sanders, Colorado

Sanders might get the most discussion of any QB in the nation. Last season, he passed for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns against just three interceptions. Playing for his dad's team in a system designed for him, Sanders will put up numbers. But he needs to go well beyond last year's 4-8 mark for it to mean much.

#5. Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss

A two-way standout, Dart threw for 3,364 yards and 23 touchdowns last year. He rushed for another 391 yards and eight scores. Given the outstanding players added around him by Ole Miss, he could well be even better in 2024.

#4. Dillon Gabriel, Oregon

The UCF and Oklahoma transfer who has been handed the keys to Oregon's attack, Gabriel has already thrown for 14,865 yards in college. Last year, he passed for 3,660 yards and 30 touchdowns. Given as much talent as Oregon has compiled, he could be a legitimate Heisman candidate this fall.

#3. Quinn Ewers, Texas

Ewers was the product of significant hype, but once he started playing in 2022, he showed major skills. Last season, Ewers passed for 3,479 yards and 22 touchdowns. He got Texas to within a single score of the national title game. If he can hold off Arch Manning, he'll have another massive season in 2024.

#2. Jalen Milroe, Alabama

Milroe did an oustanding job in his first year starting with Alabama last year. He threw for 2,834 yards and 23 touchdowns while running for 531 yards and 12 more scores. Now, Milroe will go from Nick Saban's offense to that of Kalen DeBoer. He could easily throw for 3,000 yards and 4,000 isn't out of the question.

#1.Carson Beck, Georgia

Beck was suspected to be a game manager after sitting behind Stetson Bennett at Georgia. But lo and behold, when the UGA offense was turned over to Beck, he came through as more than that. Last season, he passed for 3,941 yards and 24 scores against just six interceptions. Beck could be even better this year, and if so, he'll likely lead UGA to a national title.
