"She's such a star" - Deion Sanders' ex-wife Pilar Sanders once captured Shelomi Sanders during heartfelt moment with fan

Colorado coach Deion Sanders' lastborn daughter Shelomi Sanders has been making her presence felt at Buffs games to cheer on her brothers Shilo and Shedeur.

Shelomi will start her new basketball career as an Alabama A&M Bulldogs player in a week when her team opens the season against the No. 24-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.

A year ago, when the Sanders clan had just arrived in Boulder, Coach Prime's ex-wife Pilar Sanders posted a YouTube video showing Buffs fans taking pictures with Shelomi. This was during the Buffs' spring game.

"Shelomi, she's such a star," Pilar said.

When Shelomi Sanders entered the transfer portal from the Colorado Lady Buffs in April, her father, Deion Sanders, was not pleased. He expressed his thoughts on the move during an interview with "DVNR Buffs."

"(It) was stupid," Sanders said. "You don't enter the portal. You get a team before you enter the portal. You kinda get a team before you enter the portal. You know, that's what I would advise a child. And I know, 'Well it's illegal...' C'mon, man."

During a live stream on Instagram a few weeks ago, Shelomi Sanders reinforced the idea that she was unhappy in Boulder. She gave a scathing review of how her career would have turned out had she stayed.

“I don’t want to say anything too bad,” Shelomi Sanders said on the livestream. “It just wasn’t good energy. It wasn’t good vibes. There wasn’t enough being poured into me as a player and young lady. If I didn’t leave when I did, I promise you I would’ve quit.”

The ever-supportive Pilar Sanders took her daughter's side in the fiasco, fiercely championing her right to choose her next school. She also accused Coach Prime of not being supportive of their daughter in a lengthy clip posted on Instagram.

“When a child, a young adult, decides to step out on their own and even taking advice, not even in an arrogant way, not in a disrespectful way, but looking out for their own life, looking out for their own career, and doing what’s best to be done, the girl wants to play ball," Pilar said. "How about supporting somebody else? We know you have your favorites. We all know that; we’ve all seen it throughout life.”

With the college basketball season on the verge of tipping off, Shelomi Sanders will get a chance to finally kickstart her basketball career. So far, she has barely played any basketball in two years at Jackson State and Colorado.
