Shedeur Sanders puts Colorado on board with a perfect 39-yard carry against Stanford in Week 7 [WATCH]

The Colorado Buffaloes have one of the most explosive offenses as they are led by junior quarterback Shedeur Sanders. In the first quarter of their Week 7 Pac-12 Conference matchup against the Stanford Cardinal, Shedeur Sanders had a massive 39-yard rushing attempt to get inside the Stanford 25-yard line.

This play was one of the biggest plays in the first quarter in terms of yardage and was a major reason why the team was able to cap the drive off with a touchdown. Much has been discussed about the offensive line of the Colorado Buffaloes as Shedeur Sanders has been getting hit a lot more than people would expect.

This play showcases a great skillset of the quarterback that is not utilized as much. Sanders has a deadly accurate passing attack and adding his threat of running the football is going to keep all 11 defenders on the field, keeping an eye for him rolling out of the pocket.

Can Shedeur Sanders continue to climb up the Heisman Trophy odds list?

Shedeur Sanders has proven to be one of the best quarterbacks in college football in his first season in the FBS. The Colorado Buffaloes have gone from a one-win program a year ago and are entering this matchup against the Stanford Cardinal 4-2.

Quarterback Sanders has been doing extremely well as he is 186-of-256 (72.7 completion percentage) for 2,020 yards with 16 passing touchdowns and two interceptions. He has also shown the ability to run but has been more of a pocket passer. It definitely has been working to his advantage as he is leading in passing yards entering Week 7.

Sanders is one of the dark horse candidates to win the Heisman Trophy, but it will be extremely difficult for him to surpass some of the players nearing the top of the list. Caleb Williams, Michael Penix Jr. and Drake Maye all have compelling cases and have extremely better odds than what he has at this point.

However, with all three of those players eligible to leave for the 2024 NFL draft and Sanders likely returning to the Colorado Buffaloes next season, he will be one of the favorites to win the award for the 2024 season.

Things are looking great for the Buffaloes going forward, and this will be interesting if Sanders continues to play well as the season progresses.
