Sherrone Moore reveals team's undying motivation to emerge as Natty victors: "That's all they talked about"
Jim Harbaugh's Michigan created history as they bagged the program's first national championship title since 1997 in the 2023 college football season.
After the Wolverines' thrilling 15-0 run, Harbaugh decided to pass on the torch to Sherrone Moore, who was appointed as the offensive line coach at the time.
Moore played college football with the University of Oklahoma and later joined Michigan as their tight ends coach.
He was also given the responsibility of being the acting head coach for four games when Jim Harbaugh faced suspension due to sign-stealing and in-person scouting allegations.
In a conversation with Joel Klatt, Sherrone Moore opened up about the team's resilience and desire to win despite facing challenges with their head coach:
"More than anything, winning the national championship game, ...because that's all they talk about after the TCU game last year, and we always talked about process over prize, and we knew what the prize was, 'Alright, let's stop talking about the prize and let's go attack the process of getting better every day.'
"So we did that, and I think when all that stuff started to come out, it was like, it just added a little fuel to the fire just a little bit. We didn't need any, but kind of glad you know you had a little fuel. It kept that chip, kept that boulder on their shoulder, even brighter and they took and ran with it."

Will Michigan win the national championship title in 2024?
The Wolverines will be the defending champions this year after last season's success.
However, since then, Michigan has lost some big names like Jim Harbaugh, J.J. McCarthy, Blake Corum and 11 other players who were picked in the 2024 NFL draft.
Owing to Sherrone Moore's limited head coaching experience, he will face the spotlight and expectation of taking the team's momentum further.
Talking about whether Michigan will repeat history, CBS Sports' Josh Pate gave his opinion on the matter (via Sports Illustrated):
"Here's why I am not as high on them repeating as a national champion. Because I'm not high on anyone repeating as a national champion from this point moving forward," Pate said.
