Hence, Daniels enters the 2024 college football season as Stanford University's undisputed starter. His sophomore season performances warrant a re-run at the position, and Troy Taylor hasn't said anything to the contrary.
Daniels made the 2023 Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll last season.
Justin Lamson
Justin Lamson appeared in 11 games and started three last season. He was initially in competition with Ashton Daniels for the Stanford QB1 role. However, Daniels won the contest and took the majority of the offensive snaps for the season.
However, it'll be a big mistake for anyone to write off Lamson heading into 2024. The former Syracuse standout has dual-threat ability and offers something different to Daniels on the ground.
Lamson might be starting the season as QB2, but don't be surprised if he ends up as a starter by the business end of the season.
Elijah Brown
Elijah Brown is the sole freshman in the team’s quarterback room, but he's arguably the most talented player. Chris Hummer of 247Sports sees Brown as an unusually polished high school QB. He joins Stanford after a remarkably successful high school career with Golden State powerhouse Santa Ana Mater Dei.
While it's rare to see true freshmen start games at the collegiate level, don't be surprised if Troy Taylor gives Brown some reps in 2024.
