The Syracuse Football Season Preview 2024 will be interesting as this team took a massive step in the right direction last year. It qualified for a bowl game in coach Fran Brown's first season. The program landed some big fish from the NCAA Transfer Portal as well.

Syracuse's biggest games in the 2024 season

The Syracuse Orange have one of the more interesting schedules in college football. They have four home games to open the year and then play five of their next six games on the road before wrapping up the regular season with two home games. Below is the breakdown of the schedule. There are not too many massive threats throughout the schedule for the Orange.

  • 9/20: vs. Stanford
  • 9/28: vs. Holy Cross

Key Syracuse players to watch out for in the 2024 season

Kyle McCord, QB

Quarterback Kyle McCord transferred to the Syracuse Orange from the Ohio State Buckeyes this offseason. He had an excellent year as a starting quarterback, finishing 229-of-348 (65.8%) for 3,170 yards with 24 passing touchdowns to six interceptions. Going from the Big Ten to the Atlantic Coast Conference could mean his numbers increase even more against inferior competition.

LeQuint Allen, RB

Running back LaQuint Allen has shown he can step up in this offense and should be utilized well throughout the year. Last year, he finished with 225 carries for 1,062 (4.7 yards per attempt) with nine rushing touchdowns as well as 36 receptions for 197 yards (5.5 yards per carry) and a receiving touchdown.

Allen should be able to dominate as teams will respect the passing game more this season. That should lessen the number of players in the tackle box to slow him down.

Marlowe Wax, MLB

Linebacker Marlowe Wax has been leading the way on the defensive side of the field, as he finds his way to the ball no matter what. Last season, he finished with 99 total tackles, four sacks, four forced fumbles, one interception and a pair of pass deflections. Wax has been able to step up and should continue to improve as the season goes on.

Syracuse's prediction for the 2024 season

The Syracuse Orange have an easy schedule, and the addition of Kyle McCord will help improve the team further. Their defense did well last season, so there are a lot of expectations. Do not be surprised if you see the Orange make the ACC Championship Game this season.
