Texas A&M vs. McNeese State injury report: List of players injured ahead of week 2 showdown
Texas A&M vs McNeese State should be a fun early season matchup in Week 2, as both teams look to improve on their starts to the season. The Aggies will host the Cowboys on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. E.T.
Heading into Week 2, both teams are dealing with injuries that occurred either during training camp or in Week 1.
Texas A&M football injury report
Texas A&M has four players on the injury report, while McNeese is only dealing with one injured player heading into this week's matchup.
Marck Nabou
In last week's 23-13 loss to Notre Dame, center Mark Nabou sustained a lower leg injury. Coach Mike Elko said:
"I'll give you one injury report, Mark Nabou unfortunately is going to be out for the rest of the year."
Rueben Owens
Also out for the season is running back Rueben Owens. He suffered a lower leg injury in the preseason and will miss the rest of the year recovering.
The Aggies also have two players who are questionable for the matchup this week.
Jabre Barber
Jabre Barber missed Week 1 with a foot injury and is slowly progressing. Mike Elko told reporters that he could return to the lineup sooner rather than later; however, it is unclear whether he will be ready for the matchup against the Cowboys.
Donovan Green
Tight end Donovan Green also remains out due to a knee injury in training camp. No update has been given but he is still listed as questionable.
Ar'maj Reed-Adams
Lastly, starting right guard Ar'maj Reed-Adams sustained a minor injury in last week's game but will play this weekend. He is not listed on the injury report.
McNeese State football injury report
While McNeese State is one of the few teams that has already played twice this season, it has not dealt with a lot of injuries.
Clifton McDowell
That said, the only injury the team is dealing with is quarterback Clifton McDowell's. McDowell left last week's game against Southern Georgia and did not return. He was replaced by freshman Kamden Sixkiller.
Coach Gary Goff said:
"It's going to be a game-time decision, he did a little bit today (Thursday), and he's looking better. It's something minor and we're hoping he's going to be fine."
Goff also added that McDowell will only play if the trainers are fully confident he is healthy.
