"The level of idiocy is overwhelming": Fans mad at Travis Hunter for his Tom Brady jersey comment
Colorado Buffaloes cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter said he won't wear the No. 12 jersey if the New England Patriots draft him as he respects Tom Brady's legacy.
Hunter decided to enter the NFL draft in 2025 despite being a junior. He is projected to be one of the top five picks.
In an episode of "The Travis Hunter Show," Hunter said:
"What if I go to the Patriots? Bro, I’m not gonna wear Tom Brady’s number bro. That’s too much legacy in that jersey. I respect Tom Brady too much."
This agitated the fans, who believe Hunter is being too egotistical to even think he will be offered the No. 12 jersey by the Patriots.
"He's talking like he has a choice like bruh its Tom Brady," a fan commented.
Some fans feel that it would be a mistake if the Patriots drafted him while other fans point out that the jersey is already retired by the New England Patriots.
"If Patriots pick him it will be the biggest mistake in ten years. They need to trade it for 2 picks or pick an olineman or Def Rush End ! Their defence is a total disaster," another said.
"To bad he wouldn’t be able to wear that number. Patriots retired it," a fan pointed out.
"This years draft is going to be so bad. All these pundits are also going to get humbled when Hunter goes late and Sanders to the third round," another predicted.
Travis Hunter ends his time with the Buffs with a loss
Colorado faced BYU in the Alamo Bowl on Saturday. The Cougars put up 36 points while the Buffs only managed 14. Travis Hunter scored a touchdown and had 106 yards on four receptions.
Quarterback Shedeur Sanders threw for 208 yards and two touchdowns while getting intercepted twice. Colorado finished the season with a 9-4 record.
