Those games might not count: Former Ohio State star J.K. Dobbins takes shot at Connor Stalions as Pat McAfee brings up Buckeyes loss to Michigan

J.K. Dobbins, a former Ohio State standout, threw some shade at Connor Stalions. Dobbins made sure to stand up for his Buckeyes when their rivalry loss to Michigan came up on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Monday.

While Pat McAfee tried to stir the conversation by bringing up Ohio State’s loss, Dobbins (Los Angeles Chargers running back) wasn't about to let that slide.

Dobbins, now under coach Jim Harbaugh, who once led Michigan to victory over Ohio State three straight times, had an impressive debut with the Chargers. He ran for 135 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, helping his team to a 22-10 win against the Raiders.

When McAfee mentioned Harbaugh’s winning track record, including his success at Michigan and the San Francisco 49ers:

“It happens everywhere he goes,” McAfee said. “When he's in San Fran obviously go to the Super Bowl, he goes to Michigan. They win a national championship. They beat Ohio State three straight times, including in Columbus.”

Dobbins was quick to intervene.

“I'm not gonna into that because I love him. That's my coach right now, but but as an Ohio State person. I don't think those games will count,” Dobbins said with a smile.

He said that there was someone on the staff who might make those wins a little questionable:

“But look, I love coach, he is a great coach,” Dobbins said. “He is a winner. But he had a person [Stalions] on the staff that those games might not count.”

Connor Stalions, a former Michigan staffer, resigned after allegations surfaced that he had stolen opponents' signs during games last season.

Connor Stalions’ new chapter at Mumford High School hasn’t gone as planned

Connor Stalions, the defensive coordinator at Mumford High School in Detroit, hasn't seen his first games go as planned.

In the season opener, Mumford lost 47-6 to Redford Thurston. The struggles continued on Friday night, when, filling in as acting head coach after William McMichael had suffered a stroke, Stalions watched his team get shut out 60-0 by Hamady High School.

“Success doesn’t come overnight and the first three or four opponents we play are playoff teams, so the schedule is frontloaded,” Stalions said via Detroit News.
“By no means is that an excuse, but we know we’re in for some dogfights at the beginning of the year and it’s about getting these guys to buy into the process.”

McMichael, who took over as head coach this spring, brought Stalions on board as defensive coordinator, despite his controversial past with the sign-stealing scandal at Michigan.
