Top 10 cornerbacks to watch out for in Week 2 of college football ft. Will Johnson

Fans who enjoy watching the defensive side of football typically like watching cornerbacks. CBs defend wide receivers and have one of the toughest positions to play.

10 cornerbacks to watch in Week 2

After Week 1, some preseason CBs are looking to continue their hot starts while others are looking to bounce back after poor performances last week. These are 10 cornerbacks to watch out for in Week 2.

#1 Will Johnson

Will Johnson is one of the top cornerbacks in the nation and plays for Michigan. Last week he had three tackles, including two solo efforts. Additionally, he had an interception and returned it 86 yards for a touchdown. This week, his Wolverines will take on a top team in Texas.

#2 Benjamin Morrison

Although Morrison's game was largely uneventful, he was a big part of Notre Dame's defense. He had two tackles and limited passes to the player he was defending. He will look to continue his success on Saturday against Northern Illinois.

#3 Sebastian Castro

Castro helped Iowa shut out Illinois State in Week 1. He had three solo tackles and a forced fumble. He will be relied on heavily to play tough defense in an in-state matchup against Iowa State on Saturday.

#4 Tacario Davis

Davis had a big Week 1 as he contributed seven tackles, including five solo efforts. He will need to do the same this week as his Wildcats play an in-state game against Northern Arizona on Saturday.

#5 Jabbar Muhammad

Muhammad had a quiet Week 1 with only two tackles and one solo. However, the defense of Oregon still did a good job, holding Idaho to only 14 points. He will be tested against Boise State on Saturday which put up 56 points in Week 1.

#6 Travis Hunter

Hunter is an interesting player because he plays CB and wide receiver. Last week, he had three solo tackles and also received seven passes and scored three touchdowns on offense. It will be interesting to see how Colorado deploys him in Week 2 against Nebraska.

#7 Denzel Burke

Burke played his role in Week 1 with four tackles to help hold Akron to just six points. Playing against Western Michigan in Week 2, the Buckeyes will want to see a similar performance from Burke.

#8 Dorian Strong

Strong had an uneventful game in Week 1. He only had one tackle in a loss to Vanderbilt. The Hokies will need him to be more involved on defense if they want to bounce back against Marshall on Saturday.

#9 Quincy Riley

Riley needs to be better in Week 2 for his team to have sustained success. Riley did not have any tackles during the game. Louisville was still able to win, but that will not happen every game if its star cornerback is invisible.

#10 Cobee Bryant

Bryant was viewed as a top cornerback coming into the season; however, he did not do much in Week 1. He defended one pass and had no tackles against Lindenwood. With Kansas playing a stronger Illinois team on Saturday, it will need a stronger performance from Bryant to win.
