Top 10 QBs to watch out for in Week 4 of college football season ft. Arch Manning
Week 4 of the college football season is already here, and there are a lot of intriguing storylines and players. One thing is the elite quarterbacks in the country, as there are a lot of great passers.
Let's take a dive into the top 10 for this upcoming week.
Top 10 QBs to watch out for in Week 4
Arch Manning, Texas
Arch Manning stepped up to win the SEC Player of the Week after coming in for the injured Quinn Ewers and going 9-of-12 for 223 yards and four passing touchdowns, running another touchdown in against the UTSA Roadrunners.
If Ewers is not able to play, it will be Manning's first collegiate start and will be arguably the most intriguing game on the Week 4 slate.
Alex Orji, Michigan
Michigan coach Sherrone Moore announced on Monday that Alex Orji will start for the Wolverines against the USC Trojans this week after coming off the bench to relieve a struggling Davis Warren.
The Wolverines have struggled under center this season, and Orji was the projected starting quarterback entering Week 1, but Warren was named the starter. It will be interesting to see how Orji does, as he has gone 3-of-6 for 15 yards and a pair of passing touchdowns.
Dylan Raiola, Nebraska
Dylan Raiola has shown the ability to step up as a true freshman with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The team is 3-0, and he's going up against the Illinois Fighting Illini this week. Expect to see him continue to play like baby Patrick Mahomes once again.
Miller Moss, USC
The person to replace Caleb Williams at USC was Miler Moss, and he has shown the ability to keep the offense going strong.
He has a pair of passing touchdowns in two games, but going up against the elite defense of the Michigan Wolverines, this is going to be the game to keep an eye on for Moss' progression as a starting quarterback.
Kyle McCord, Syracuse
Kyle McCord has shown no signs of struggles with the Syracuse Orange since transferring there, as he has an 8:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio for the 2-0 program in the ACC.
He has looked sharp and should continue to dominate under center. This week, he will be home against the Stanford Cardinal and should do well.
DJ Uiagalelei, Florida State
DJ Uiagalelei has been underwhelming this season for the Florida State Seminoles, and there have been loud calls about benching him for backup Brock Glenn.
Completing just 56.6% of his passes and only one touchdown pass in three games, this game against the undefeated California Golden Bears is arguably the biggest of his collegiate career.
Graham Mertz, Florida
Graham Mertz is going to have a lot of eyes on him, with the Florida Gators struggling and DJ Lagway waiting in the wings. He returned from his concussion last week and had a good game.
Mertz went 12-of-15 for 195 yards with a touchdown and interception. However, he's going up against the Mississippi State Rebels, so this is going to be something to look at going forard.
Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss
Ole Miss is getting a dominant quarterback right now in senior Jaxson Dart, as he has performed well and made the Rebels look like a legitimate threat to win the SEC.
His touchdowns have slowed down, with just three passing touchdowns in the last two weeks, but he has thrown for 377+ yards in each game. Dart will face the Georgia Southern Eagles in Week 4, so this should be a thrilling matchup, to say the least.
Cam Ward, Miami
Cam Ward has been playing at an elite level, as he's arguably the most productive quarterback in college football this season.
With an 11:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio and NCAA-leading 94.4 QBR, it's difficult to expect him to slow down anytime soon. He will be going up against the South Florida Bulls this week, and this should be an interesting test for him.
Cameron Rising, Utah
After missing last week's game against the Baylor Bears due to a finger injury on his throwing hand, it will be interesting to see how Cameron Rising fares, granted he's able to return to the lineup this week.
He has done incredibly well since returning from the knee injury that sidelined him for all of the 2023 season, as he's 18-of-29 for 346 yards and seven touchdown passes. This will be a major test, though, as he faces off against Oklahoma State on the road, so this will be a significant game for Rising.
