Top 3 landing spots for Notre Dame commit Deuce Knight after Elite 11 performance ft. Ole Miss
Four-star class of 2025 quarterback Deuce Knight impressed observers with his performances in the 2024 Elite 11 competition that kicked off on Tuesday night in Los Angeles. Many of the top QB recruits in the nation had the chance to display their skills during the event, and Knight took full advantage of his opportunity.
The Lucedale, Mississippi native is currently committed to Notre Dame, but other top programs continue to pursue the young star and sway him away from the Fighting Irish. Here is a look at three potential landing spots for the 6-foot-4.5, 208-pound quarterback, should he flip his commitment from Notre Dame.

Top 3 landing spots for Deuce Knight
#3. South Carolina Gamecocks
After Spencer Rattler's departure to the NFL, the Gamecocks have no quarterback commits from the class of 2025 and seem to be making a strong push to make Knight their first. Knight had this to say about South Carolina during an interview with On3's Phillip Dukes in February:
"South Carolina, that's another school who has been on me a lot. Their offensive coordinator, Dowell Loggains, he spent 17 years in the NFL, so that's a thing I hear a lot from them."
Dowell Loggains was hired as South Carolina's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2023. He worked with Rattler last season, who had arguably the best season of his career, throwing for 3,186 yards and 19 touchdowns.
The Gamecocks make a tempting pitch that would allow Knight to work with an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach who developed a Senior Bowl MVP and NFL draft pick in 2023.
#2. Alabama Crimson Tide
Deuce Knight would be a huge recruit for Alabama to bring in as a part of coach Kalen DeBoer's first recruiting class for the program. Deuce Knight's older brother Ty Fryfogle played wide receiver for Indiana under DeBoer in 2019, when he was Hoosiers offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Knight is a left-handed quarterback, and DeBoer just worked with Michael Penix Jr., who was also a southpaw, during his time at Washington. Their preexisting relationship and DeBoer's ability to successfully work with lefty quarterbacks could make Alabama a frontrunner if Knight opts to flip his commitment.
#1. Ole Miss Rebels
In his interview with On3, Knight had this to say regarding recruiting attempts by Ole Miss:
"I talk to somebody from the Ole Miss staff at least every day. Me being a Mississippi guy, that's the thing that they harp on. Like, 'You could really stay home, put on big for your state, and play under one of the best offensive-minded head coaches in Coach Kiffin."
Clearly, Ole Miss is making a strong push for Deuce Knight, centered around coach Lane Kiffin, who has worked with many top college quarterbacks, and allowing him to stay close to home.
Will Deuce Knight flip his commitment and land at another program or stay committed to Notre Dame? Let us know in the comment section.
