The college football season is now entering Week 3, and the SEC has been dominant through the early stages. The conference has six teams in the top seven and eight teams in the top 16 of the latest rendition of the AP Top 25 Poll. Three additional teams also received votes.
With the College Football Playoff field expanding from four to 12 teams, there will be several teams in the postseason mix throughout the season. Take a look at three SEC players who could make a big impact in Week 3 below.
Top 3 SEC players who could make an impact in Week 3 of college football
#1: Carson Beck
Carson Beck has gotten off to a great start to the season. The No.1-ranked Georgia Bulldogs quarterback has thrown for 520 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions while completing 70.7% of his pass attempts.
The program will begin conference play in Week 3 when they visit the Kentucky Wildcats. With the SEC expected to be tougher than ever in 2024, look for Beck to continue his elite play as Georgia gets off to a strong start.
#2: Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe has also gotten off to a strong start to the season over the first two games. The No.4-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide's quarterback has thrown for 399 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions. He has completed 66.7% of his passes while adding 81 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries.
The Crimson Tide will go on the road to face the Wisconsin Badgers. Expect Milroe's strong season to continue with another big outing against a Big Ten opponent that received some votes in the latest rendition of the AP Top 25 Poll.
#3: Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart has had an elite start to his season. The No.5-ranked Ole Miss Rebels quarterback has thrown for 795 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions while completing 87.0% of his passes and adding two rushing touchdowns.
The Rebels will also be on the road in Week 3 as they face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Look for Dart to continue to post big numbers as he has in each of the first two games.
