Top 5 ACC players to watch out for in Round 2 of NFL Draft 2024 ft. Keon Coleman

Day 2 of the 2024 NFL draft kicks off Friday, and the second round has some incredible talent, specifically from the Atlantic Coast Conference. Who are some of the players that will be selected in the second round of the draft coming out of the ACC? Let's take a look at five different players who should hear their names early.

Top 5 ACC players to watch out for in Round 2 of the NFL Draft

#5 Trey Benson, RB (Florida State Seminoles)

Running back Trey Benson is one of the top players that are still available. He has the athleticism and explosiveness to shine in the NFL. Benson played well for the Seminoles last season, finishing with 156 rushing attempts for 905 yards (5.8 yards per carry) and 14 rushing touchdowns, as well as 20 catches for 227 yards (11.4 yards per reception) and a touchdown catch. With improved receiving and a strong runner, this is a name to watch out for.

#4 Cedric Gray, LB (North Carolina Tar Heels)

Cedric Gray is going to be a decent linebacker in the NFL right away, but he needs to improve on his play recognition. He has a nose for football, as he recorded 99+ tackles in each of his last three seasons with a combined 8.5 sacks, five interceptions and 13 pass deflections. If Gray improves against the run, it will be intriguing to see how great he could be, but he is still a strong linebacker.

#3 Payton Wilson, LB (NC State Wolfpack)

NC State linebacker Payton Wilson had a great season in 2023 and should parlay that into a second-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft. He finished the season with 138 total tackles, six sacks, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and six pass deflections. Wilson has good size, but the biggest red flag is seemingly his injury history. With the seventh-best Pro Football Focus for linebackers in 2023 at 89.9, it is difficult to see him lasting on the board for much longer.

#2 Braden Fiske, DT (Florida State Seminoles)

Braden Fiske has a massive frame at 6-foot-5 and 297 pounds and finished last season with 43 total tackles and six sacks. He has the intelligence to be successful and has recorded 77 quarterback hurries over his previous three years. With an incredible ability to do well off the line of scrimmage, Fiske is going to be an exciting prospect to add to a team's defensive line in the 2024 NFL draft.

#1 Keon Coleman, WR (Florida State Seminoles)

Wide receiver Keon Coleman had an outstanding 2023, as he finished the season with 50 catches for 658 yards (13.2 yards per reception) and 11 touchdown grabs. He only dropped a pair of passes. In a draft with a lot of receivers, he is one of the best overall players available.
