Top 5 offensive players in the College Transfer Portal ft. Luke Kromenhoek and Nic Anderson
The college football transfer portal has only been open for a few days, but quite a wealth of offensive talent has already accumulated. From rifle-armed quarterbacks to big-play receivers and the ever-important linemen, plenty of offensive standouts are hitting the portal. Here's a rundown of five of the most significant offensive playmakers who are moving along.
Top 5 offensive Players in the portal
5. Nic Anderson, Oklahoma
A season ago, Nic Anderson was an explosive playmaker for the Sooners. He caught 38 passes for a whopping 798 yards and 10 touchdowns. But a miserable 6-6 season for Oklahoma combined with an early-season injury that limited him to only a handful of snaps have him moving along.
A 6-foot-4 playmaker on the outside with an ability to stretch the field vertically should have his selection of potential homes. Anderson should have two years of eligibility left and will add some instant punch to any offense.
4. Duce Robinson, USC
Speaking of lengthy playmakers, the 6-foot-6 Robinson figures to get fans and coaches alike excited. Robinson's skill set hasn't really been consistently utilized. In two years at USC, he has caught 39 passes for 747 yards and seven scores. But a more consistent offense might be able to get Robinson more touches.
He's one of the more unfinished players on this list, but Robinson's potential is endlessly exciting. Like Anderson above, he's an automatic field stretcher for a potent offense. The right fit could have Robinson heading to the NFL after 2025, so he's certainly a player to watch.
3. Luke Kromenhoek, Floirda State
The most exciting QB yet in the portal, Kromenhoek is a four-star signal caller who got caught in the 2-10 mudslide of a season that Florida State experienced. Kromenhoek did get some playing time, throwing 84 passes in the second half of the season. But he's in the portal now.
Kromenhoek is much more of a finished product than most freshman transfers will be. He's accurate, savvy, and could jump right into a starting role at a fair number of even Power Four programs.
2. Patrick Kutas, Arkansas
Offensive linemen tend to get forgotten. They don't catch touchdowns or make flashy plays on the football. All they do is win games quietly in the trenches. Take Kutas, a 6-foot-5 interior lineman who has been excellent at Arkansas. A 6-6 season for the Hogs seems to have Sam Pittman's future in trouble. Kutas has moved on.
Any team that signs Kutas gets a plug-and-play guy who will improve the running attack and help keep the QB clean. In an era when NIL figures are whispered and hinted at, a power team with a hole on the offensive line may well end up committing a staggering amount to getting Kutas in the fold.
1. Eric Singleton, Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech had a phenomenal season, but Singleton has jumped into the portal anyway. At 5-foot-11, he's not a physical specimen like the other receivers on this list. What he does have, though, is loads of experience as a proven quality.
In two years at Tech, Singleton has 104 catches for 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns. He has another 140 yards rushing and a touchdown on the ground.
Singleton can make plays in space and is a sure-handed target. Virtually any offense could conceive of a role for the outstanding pass catcher with two years of eligibility remaining. An SEC bidding war is entirely plausible for Singleton.
