#7 Penn State Nittany Lions
Some teams make a splash with less. That's Penn State's claim to fame. The Littany Lions' uniform is incredibly basic. Navy blue and white in some combination, no team name, no player name, a simple white helmet with a blue stripe.
But here's the thing. The simplicity references tradition and elegance. It works because they made it work. And they're not the only ones.
#6. Georgia Bulldogs
While Georgia is a bit fancier than Penn State, it's just more about owning an iconic look. Lots of Georgia red, coupled with silver pants, makes the Bulldogs a bit more cutting-edge than Penn State or, say, Michigan. But it's also a look that's immediately identifiable.
Georgia is another massive football brand. The black "G" on the helmet, the red uniforms and the silver pants communicate an identity of excellence. It's quite a look.
