QBs in the College Football Transfer Portal have always been a point of discussion. The college football regular season has come to an end, and with that, the transfer portal is open.
We have already seen plenty of starting-caliber players enter their names into the transfer portal. But, whenever a quarterback enters the transfer portal, it is big news as teams can change their entire program by landing one of the big quarterbacks.
Although there will be more players to enter the transfer portal in the coming days and weeks, let's take a look at the five best quarterbacks already in the transfer portal.

The best quarterbacks in the transfer portal - College football 2023
Kyle McCord
Taking over from the No.2 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Kyle McCord had big shoes to fill as Ohio State's new quarterback. While, he did have his moments, McCord fell short of some expectations, and has now entered the transfer portal after OSU's loss to Michigan in "The Game."
The 6'3" quarterback threw for 3,170 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions. Fans have speculated this decision came after head coach Ryan Day dodged questions about McCord's availability for the Cotton Bowl.

Cameron Ward
One of the top quarterbacks to enter the transfer portal, Cam Ward announced he will be looking to move on from the Washington State Cougars after two seasons. Ward threw for 6,358 yards, 43 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions over the last two years. However, the Cougars could only gather 11 wins over this time.
With the realignment next season, and the future uncertain for Washington State, it is understandable that the 21-year-old will be looking for a new team for his senior year.
Tyler Van Dyke (Committed to Wisconsin)
Miami Hurricanes' Tyler Van Dyke has entered the transfer portal after four years with the program.
Van Dyke committed to the Hurricanes for the 2020 season but became the starter in 2021. In three complete seasons in Miami, he went 14-11 as a starter for 6,659 yards, 51 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.

Will Rogers (Committed to Washington)
Will Rogers entered the transfer portal after spending four years with the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Rogers had been the Bulldogs starting quarterback for three seasons now. He threw for 12,315 yards, 94 touchdowns and 28 interceptions.
Max Johnson (Committed to North Carolina)
Max Johnson will be leaving the Texas A&M Aggies, as the quarterback has decided to enter the transfer portal.
Johnson will be going to his third school as he was in LSU for two years before going to Texas A&M for two seasons. In his college career, he has thrown for 5,548 yards, 46 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Will Howard
Will Howard spent four years as a quarterback with the Kansas State Wildcats. He recently entered his name into the transfer portal.
Howard helped lead the Wildcats to a Big 12 championship in 2022 and the graduate will be one of the top quarterbacks available. In his college career, he's thrown for 5,786 yards, 48 touchdowns and 25 interceptions.
Dillon Gabriel
One of the best quarterbacks in college football in recent years, Dillon Gabriel entered the transfer portal after solid stints at UCF and Oklahoma.The senior-year quarterback has put up 14,865 yards, and 125 touchdowns over his college career.

Blake Shapen
A redshirt junior quarterback for the Baylor Bears, Blake Shapen has entered the transfer portal after three years in Waco.
Shapen started 23 games for the Bears and put up 5,574 yards along with 36 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. The quarterback has at least one more year of eligibility left and will be able to play for his new team immediately. This decision came shorty after the program fired OC Jeff Grimes.

DJ Uiagalelei
After spending a season with the Oregon State Beavers, QB DJ Uiagalelei has made the decision to enter the transfer portal once again. Uiagalelei previously transferred from Clemson to Oregon State.
Uiagalelei had a decent season with the Beavers, missing out on his career-high passing yards for a season by less than 100 yards. The third year quarterback threw for 2,418 yards and 20 touchdowns along with six interceptions. Uiagalelei also added 206 rushing yards and 6 rushing touchdowns to his tally.
Riley Leonard (Committed to Notre Dame)
Leonard had a lot of expectations on him at the start of the season, and the quarterback had a strong start to the season. However, injuries forced Leonard to miss five games.
In the seven games he played, Leonard threw for 1,102 yards and 3 touchdowns, along with 352 yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground. Leonard entered the transfer portal after the departure of HC Mike Elko, and will be looking to replicate his 2022 season at his new destination.

Grayson McCall
McCall has entered the transfer portal for the second time in the last two seasons. The last time, the senior year quarterback decided to return to the program after Coastal Carolina hired Tim Beck.
Entering his sixth season in college football, McCall will be looking to find a new home as this will most likely also be his final season. In five seasons, McCall has thrown for over 10,000 yards, and 88 touchdowns with only 14 interceptions.

Dante Moore, UCLA
A five-star prospect from the 2023 class, Moore decided to enter the transfer portal after just one season with UCLA. Moore finished the season with 1610 passing yards and 11 touchdowns along with 9 interceptions.

Tyler Shough, Texas Tech
Although Shough has spent six seasons in college football, the Texas Tech quarterback has never completed a season playing all 12 regular season games. Shough has been plagued with injuries but has repeatedly continued to impress whenever healthy.
Shough has put up 5,339 all-purpose yards and 46 combined TD's in his career.

Max Brosmer, New Hampshire
Arguably one of the best quarterbacks in the FCS, Brosmer will be garnering a lot of attention from FBS programs after a solid season where he put up career-high passing yards, touchdowns, and completion rate. Brosmer has already received from multiple programs and will likely play in the FBS next season.

Aidan Chiles, Oregon State
After former head coach Jonathan Smith left the Oregon State Beavers for Michigan State, his quarterback entered the transfer portal shortly after. Chiles spent the season as a backup to ORST star DJ Uiagalelei. He appeared in nine games for the Beavers throwing for 309 yards and four touchdowns.
Brock Vandagriff, Georgia
One of the highest-rated quarterbacks from the 2021 recruiting class, Vandagriff didn't get much of a chance to showcase his abilities behind Stetson Bennett and Carson Beck. The 21-year-old only threw 21 passes in his time at Georgia and decided to enter the transfer portal after Georgia's SEC championship game against Alabama.

Kurtis Rourke
After a career-high across the board in 2022, Rourke missed a lot of time this season suffering from injuries after an ACL tear ended his season early last year. Rourke threw for 2,207 yards and 11 touchdowns this year and will be looking to improve his availability to have a strong season next year.
Taylor Green, Boise State
A dual threat for Boise State, Taylor Green entered the transfer portal after putting up 2,014 passing yards, and 583 rushing yards, along with 24 total touchdowns.
Jordan McCloud
After an eventful season at James Madison, Jordan McCloud entered the transfer portal shortly after head coach Curt Cignetti left to become the new head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers. McCloud put up 3,413 passing yards this season, along with 34 touchdowns.
Matthew Sluka, Holy Cross
Another top quarterback from the FCS level, Sluka is a two-time finalist for the Walter Peyton award. Over his college career, Sluka has thrown for 5,896 yards, and 59 touchdowns, along with a monster 3,579 yards, and 38 touchdowns on the ground.

Ty Thompson
With Oregon replacing Bo Nix with former Oklahoma QB Dillon Gabriel, Ducks' QB Ty Thompson decided to enter the transfer portal for the 2024 season. Thompson didn't get much playing time for the Ducks behind Nix, putting up less than 500 yards in his time here.
EJ Warner, Temple
Following in the footsteps of his father, Hall of Famer Kurt Warner, EJ spent two seasons with Temple. The quarterback put up solid stats including 6,104 passing yards, and 41 touchdowns over this time.
Maalik Murphy
Just as Texas starts its preparation for the CFP showdown against Washington, QB Maalik Murphy announced that he will entering the transfer portal. With star QB Quinn Ewers set to return next season, and No. 1 recruit Arch Manning providing competition for the position, Murphy will now look for playing time with a different program.
KJ Jefferson, Arkansas
A fifth-year quarterback from Arkansas, KJ Jefferson became a star for the Razorbacks in his time in Fayetteville. A former Liberty Bowl MVP in 2021, Jefferson threw for 2,107 yards, and 19 touchdowns, this year. Jefferson also added 1,786 yards on the ground.
Malachi Nelson, USC
A formerfive-star recruit from USC, Nelson was next in line to become the signal-caller for the Trojans after QB Caleb Williams announced the decision to transfer. However, Nelson has since entered the transfer portal. Nelson has the ability to redshirt this season, and will have four years of eligibility left.
Jayden de Laura, Arkansas
Second-year Arizona quarterback Jayden de Laura announced on Monday Dec.25, that he plans to enter the transfer portal after two seasons with the Wildcats. De Laura started the season on a high note before hurting his ankle against Washington in Week 4. De Laura put up 4.950 passing yards, and 35 touchdowns over two seasons.
