"Travis Hunter is so overrated" "He'll pull an Eli": CFB world reacts to latest 2025 mock draft position for Deion Sanders' prime weapon
There are a lot of eyes on the 2025 NFL draft already as one of the top stars is cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter. The Colorado Buffaloes' two-way star has been showing shades of his coach Deion Sanders while on the field and continued to prove why he is one of the best in the upcoming draft class.
In ESPN's mock draft for the upcoming class, they have Hunter as the ninth pick going to the Arizona Cardinals. People on social media dove into their beliefs about Deion Sanders' two-way star being taken at this spot.
"Cardinals draft all this talent but don't know how to use them," one fan said.
"Travis Hunter is so overrated," one fan said.
"He'll pull an Eli," another fan said.
However, some people believe that this is a bit of a stretch and he will use his power to go to a specific team.
"He already said he wanna go to Denver," another fan said.
"I think he's gonna be a Atlanta Falcon," a fan said.
Hunter finished with 31 total tackles (23 solo, eight assisted) with three interceptions and five pass deflections on defense last season. As a wide receiver, he finished with 57 receptions for 721 yards (12.6 yards per catch) with five touchdown catches.
It will be intriguing to see how Deion Sanders uses him this year and if he will be more involved on one side of the ball than the other.
What should people expect out of Travis Hunter this season?
With this potentially being the final season of Travis Hunter in college football, there are a lot of expectations surrounding the first season back in the Big 12 for the Colorado Buffaloes.
Last season, Hunter got a ruptured spleen and missed a few games while also looking gassed at different portions. Could it be his conditioning or getting used to the elevation difference? Expect to see Hunter improve drastically with his play, whether the stats showcase that or not.
Travis Hunter likely will not fall to the ninth pick because of his potential upside. However, for Deion Sanders, Hunter could be the weapon to bring Boulder into elite status.
