UCLA vs. Oregon football history: H2H, Records, and more ahead of Week 5 CFB Matchup
After a week off, Dan Lanning's Oregon Ducks return to face the UCLA Bruins in a Week 5 Big Ten encounter between former Pac-12 schools. With a 3-0 record, the Ducks are currently the No. 8 school in the nation, remaining one of the favorites to make the college football playoff later in the season.
They dropped several spots in the season's opening weeks, going from the No. 3 before the start of the season to No. 9 into Week 3 after they had more difficult games than expected against Idaho and Boise State.
In Week 3, they recovered with a win over Oregon State 49-14. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel threw for 291 yards, with two touchdown passes and no interceptions. Tez Johnson was his best receiver, with an outstanding 110 yards in seven catches.
On the other hand, the Bruins lost to the LSU Tigers in a game they would have expected to lose before the start of the season. Signal-caller Ethan Garbers made the best of what was a difficult game, with 281 passing yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. The fact that he was sacked five times, shows the difficult day UCLA had at the line of scrimmage.
The game is a must-win for both schools. The Bruins need to turn around their 1-2 record, after back-to-back losses to Indiana and LSU. For the Ducks, any stumbling will be interpreted by the AP Poll as a sign of weakness and they will drop once more.

The Bruins hold the lead in the proceedings here, with a record of 40-31 against the Oregon Ducks. They have been historically really strong at home, with a record of 23-15 and they also lead the clashes up at Eugene, with a record of 17-16. However, the matchup has been dominated by Oregon in the last few years with the Ducks currently on a four-game winning streak.
The last game in 2022 was a 45-30 victory for the Ducks. UCLA's last victory was in 2017 when they won 31-14. That was just a blip in the recent Ducks dominance. It was preceded by five more Oregon victories that stretch back to 2008. The Bruins have won just three out of 17 encounters against Oregon in the 21st century.
