UNC Transfer Portal Tracker: All the players who have entered the portal following 2024 regular season

North Carolina struggled through a 6-6 campaign and has been busy in the transfer portal. The Tar Heels fired coach Mack Brown and hired perhaps the most decorated coach in the history of football. With Bill Belichick coming onboard, it's natural that there'll be some turmoil. While UNC is preparing for its bowl battle with UConn, here are the Tar Heels who have entered the transfer portal.

Garrett Jordan, LS

Jordan was a long snapper at Carolina. In two seasons on campus, he played only sparingly. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining at his next stop.

Jakaiah Leftwich, OT

The well-traveled Leftwich started his college career at Georgia Tech, where he played in 17 games over two seasons, starting eight times. In his one year at UNC, he played in eight more games with a single start. A high three-star recruit from Georgia, Leftwich will only have a single season left to play.

Noah Burnette, K

Burnette has spent three seasons as a starting kicker with the Tar Heels. For his career, he has connected on 49 of 62 field goal tries, while making 137 of 139 extra point attempts. Burnette went 19 for 20 in 2023, but slid to 15 for 21 in 2024. Still, he's a reliable veteran kicker who will have a year of eligibility at his next stop.

Howard Sampson, OT

Sampson has moved up from a humble start at North Texas, where he saw minimal action in two seasons. But he started all season in 2024 for UNC at left tackle. He's expected to fill the same role at Texas Tech, where he's committed. Sampson will have two seasons of eligibility ahead.

Travis Shaw, DL

A massive defensive tackle, Shaw was a five-star recruit for UNC back in 2022. His production has been disappointing though. In three seasons, Shaw has 51 tackles and five tackles for loss total. He did have 22 tackles and 3 TFLs in 2024, but Shaw has been more about potential than productivity. He's got a season of eligibility left.

Andrew Rosinski, OT

Rosinski was a freshman lineman from Georgia who saw no action this season. He'll accordingly have all four years of remaining eligibility and has elected to transfer to Georgia Tech.

Conner Harrell, QB

Harrell has spent three seasons at North Carolina. He redshirted in 2022, but has seen spot action in the last two seasons. Harrell threw 33 passes in 2023 and 37 passes in 2024. In total, he's passed for 560 yards and four touchdowns with three interceptions. He has rushed for an additional 110 yards and two touchdowns. Harrell has two remaining years of eligibility.

Caleb Hood, RB

Hood spent four seasons at UNC, although he barely saw the field in 2024. His most productive season was 2022, when he rushed for 250 yards on 43 carries. In total, he has rushed for 393 yards and two touchdowns and caught another score as a receiver. He'll have one season of eligibility remaining.

Jordan Louie, RB

In two seasons at UNC, Louie has had just one carry for no yards. He will have three remaining seasons of eligibility moving on.

Zach Greenberg, OL

Greenberg is an unusual transfer, as he started his career at Division III Muhlenberg College. He played three years there and earned all-conference honors twice. Greenberg played at UNC in 2024, seeing most of his time as a reserve. He does have a single year of remaining eligibility.

Eli Sutton, OL

Sutton was a significant prospect coming into UNC, with a four-star rating. His play never equalled that reputation. Sutton saw action in just four games in four seasons at Carolina. He'll have a single year of remaining eligibility.

Withdrawn Players

As these players have removed themselves from the portal, it's worth a mention to note that WR Kobe Paysour, OL Aidan Banfield, OL Austin Blaske and LB Amare Campbell all entered the portal, but have elected to return to UNC.
