Virginia Tech Transfer Portal Tracker: All players who have entered the portal after the 2024 regular season
Virginia Tech's portal activity is massive. The Hokies struggled through a 6-6 season and await a bowl meeting with Minnesota. But at the moment, 20 Hokies have entered the transfer portal. Brent Pry may be re-writing his roster and some players may be frustrated with Tech's performance. But regardless of why, here's the rundown of the Hokies who have entered the portal.
Virginia Tech Transfer Portal Tracker: All players who have entered the portal
Ben Locklear, QB
Locklear was a redshirt junior who played in one game in 2024. He'll have a single season of eligibility in the transfer portal.
Chance Fitzgerald, WR
Fitzgerald has spent two seasons at Virginia Tech, seeing most of his action on special teams. He played in only one game in 2023 and will have three remaining seasons of eligibility.
Mansoor Delane, CB
Delane had become a standout at corner for the Hokies. In three seasons, he has 146 tackles and broke up 16 passes, including six interceptions. Four of those interceptions came in 2024 when he developed into one of the best corners in the ACC. He has one year of eligibility and is headed to LSU.
Xayvion Turner-Bradshaw, WR
Turner-Bradshaw played two years at Tech. He saw more time in 2023 but has totaled just four rushes for 73 yards, a touchdown and a nine-yard reception. He'll have two years to play.
Jonathan Pennix, CB
Pennix has spent two years at Tech. He redshirted in 2023 and had just two tackles in 2024. He's got three seasons left to play.
Jordan Tapscott, WR
Tapscott is a walk-on who has spent two seasons at Tech. He didn't see any game action and will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Braelin Moore, OL
Moore has been one of the best centers in the past two seasons. He redshirted in 2022, so he'll have two years of eligibility left. He has chosen to transfer to LSU.
Gunner Givens, OL
Givens spent two years at Tech on the defensive line before switching to the offensive line in 2024. He saw minimal playing time at either spot, apparently seeing action in five games. He has chosen to transfer to Vanderbilt with two years of remaining eligibility.
Malachi Thomas, RB
Thomas is the rare four-year player whose production has decreased. As a freshman in 2021, he had 440 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Injuries shortened his 2022 season, but he struggled to get snaps. In total, Thomas ran for 1,127 yards and seven touchdowns at Tech. He'll have a year of eligibility.
Mose Phillips III, S
An impressive safety, Phillips saw significant time in his two years at Tech. In 2024, he had 65 tackles, four tackles for loss and an interception. Phillips has two seasons to play and will head to Missouri.
Jackson Sigler, QB
Sigler spent two years at Tech and didn't see game action. He has three years of eligibility left.
Marcell Baylor, WR
Baylor spent two seasons at Tech but didn't see significant action. He'll have three seasons left to play.
Griffin Duggan, OL
In three seasons at Tech, Duggan played mostly on special teams. He did redshirt, so he will have two years left to play.
Xavier Chaplin, OT
A two-year starter on the offensive line, Chaplin is a big loss. He redshirted in 2022 and will have two years of eligibility, which he'll pursue at Auburn.
Jalen Stroman, S
A multi-year starter, Stroman's 2024 season was shut down by injury after one game. He has 111 tackles and four passes broken up across four seasons and will have one year to play.
Keli Lawson, LB
Lawson started at Tech as a receiver but moved to defense and became a standout. In 2023, he had 80 tackles and seven tackles for loss. That slid back to 40 tackles and two tackles for loss in 2024. Lawson will have one season left to play.
Lance Williams, OL
Williams spent two seasons at Tech but only saw action in one game. He'll have three remaining years of eligibility ahead.
Khurtiss Perry, DL
Perry spent two seasons at Alabama before transferring to Virginia Tech. He's made no real impact at either school but will have two years of eligibility left when he finds his next destination.
Ishmael Findlayter, Edge
In two seasons at Virginia Tech, Findlayter played in just a single game. He will now have three years of remaining eligibility.
Malachi Madison, DL
In three seasons at Tech, Madison played in only two games, with one career tackle. He'll move to UMass with his two remaining seasons to play at his new portal destination.
