West Virginia Transfer Portal Tracker: All players who have entered the transfer portal after the 2024 season
With a coaching change and a pending bowl, West Virginia is seeing some transfer portal movement. The 6-6 Mountaineers are about to play Memphis in the Frisco Bowl. But coach Neal Brown has already been sent packing. All things considered, it's a bit surprising that West Virginia hasn't lost more players to the portal. Here's a rundown on their portal losses.
West Virginia Transfer Portal Tracker: players who have entered the portal
Josiah Trotter, LB
Trotter is a star in the making and his loss is a big deal. After redshirting as a freshman in 2023, Trotter had 92 tackles, four tackles for loss and three pass break-ups including an interception. He's got three years of eligibility left and will be one of the more interesting players to watch in the transfer portal.
Harry Hilvert, DL
Hilvert hasn't seen any playing time at West Virginia. He'll have two seasons left at his next destination in the transfer portal.
TJ Crandall, CB
Crandall will be looking for his third school. He started out at Colorado State in 2023, where he had 19 tackles, three pass break ups including an interception and showed genuine promise. In 2024 at West Virginia, he did play in 11 games, but with just nine tackles, he didn't have a major role. He will have three seasons of eligibility left.
Tyler Evans, WR
Evans has two seasons of eligibility remaining moving ahead. Evans is just 5-foot-8 and his lack of size kept him on the sidelines at West Virginia. But the speedy athlete will get another chance via the transfer portal.
Will Dixon, TE
Dixon came to West Virginia as a tight end, but he's seen most of his action as a Mountaineer on special teams. In seven games of action, Dixon made a tackle, but didn't have any catches. He's got three years of remaining eligibility.
Josiah Jackson, S
Jackson spent two years at West Virginia and played briefly in 2023 but not at all in 2024. Jackson had one tackle at WVU and will have three years of remaining eligibility when he reaches his portal destination.
Bryce Biggs, OT
Biggs played in ten games at West Virginia, often in a special teams role or as a reserve offensive lineman. He's only got one year of eligibility left as he seeks a new school via the portal.
Raleigh Collins III, S
Collins spent three seasons at West Virginia. He arrived as a linebacker and transitioned to safety after the 2022 season. In total, Collins played in 12 games and made 10 tackles including two tackles for loss. He'll have two more years to play at his next spot.
