What do Quinn Ewers' tattoos say? A look at Texas QB ink
Quinn Ewers is the starting quarterback for the college football powerhouse Texas Longhorns. The pocket-passing savant has been the team's starting quarterback since 2022 and is set to enter his third year as the team's QB1.
One noticeable thing about Quinn Ewers is his attention to detail when it comes to tattoos. So, ahead of the upcoming college football season, let's take a look at the Longhorns' star's ink.
What do Quinn Ewers' tattoos mean?
According to Austin American-Statesman, Ewers' first tattoo dates back to his time with Southlake Carroll High School. On his right forearm, he has the tattoo "Luke 17:21" which is a Bible verse. The verse reads: “Nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”
Speaking at a Bowl Game appearance, Ewers spoke about the meaning of the tattoo. He said, per Heavy:
"It popped out to me. Whenever God made us, he put you know the abilities that rose Jesus Christ from the dead in us. He is in us. He is not just the God of the future. He's a God of the present. He's in the midst of all of us. It related to me and it's a powerful, powerful verse."
Ewers has another Bible verse tattoo, this one on his chest: "Joshua 1:9." The verse says: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged. For the Lord, your God, will be with you wherever you go.”
Per Garden and Gun, Ewers' mom played a part in him getting the tattoo after he had some sleeping issues.
Last but not least, Ewers has a Texas Longhorns tattoo on his thigh. The Texas-born star got the tattoo only a short time after he transferred from Ohio State ahead of the 2022 CFB season. The tattoo signifies his love for the state of Texas and his commitment to the Longhorns.
What to expect from Quinn Ewers in 2024?
Quinn Ewers is expected to put up a show in what's likely to be his final collegiate season. The Longhorns starting quarterback amassed 3,479 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions last year. He'll be aiming to improve his stats across all boards to solidify his potential 2025 NFL Draft stock.
Under his leadership, the Texas Longhorns will be aiming to go at least one better than their CFP Semifinals finish in 2023. The goal is to win a national championship in the newly revamped collegiate playoff structure.
