What radio station is the SMU vs. Penn State game on today? Details on CFP football game coverage
The No. 11 SMU Mustangs will travel to Happy Valley to face the No. 6 Penn State Nittany Lions for a College Football Playoff game at Beaver Stadium. The game, which will start at noon ET, is the first CFP appearance for both schools.
Whoever wins here, seems to have an easy path to the semifinals, as they would face No. 3 Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl, the only non-Power Five school of those already qualified to the quarterfinals.
Those who wish to listen to the game can tune into Sirius XM nationwide. Channel 84 will have the Nittany Lions' broadcast, channel 82 the Mustangs', and channel 80 ESPN's national broadcast. Those in Happy Valley can tune into 99.5 FM, 103.7 FM, and 1450 AM.
The Mustangs come as heavy underdogs, with the oddsmakers favoring Penn State by nine points at the moment. Both schools have an 11-2 regular season record, and both lost their conference championship game (SMU to Clemson and Penn State to Oregon).

SMU's Rhett Lashlee isn't afraid of playing Penn State in cold weather
Given the time of the year the game is being played, Penn State's biggest home-field advantage is the weather. Happy Valley, Pennsylvania is a colder place in mid-December than Dallas, Texas. However, Mustangs coach Rhett Lashlee isn't deterred by this.
Here's what he said mid-week about playing in cold conditions:
“Here’s the deal: They’re playing in the same weather we are, they’ve got to play in it like we do and I don’t think they’ve played a game on Dec. 21 at home before either. I don’t think the weather’s a big deal. Both teams are playing in the same conditions, whether it’s snow or no snow, whether it’s really cold or just kind of cold. It is what it is.”
However, it's undeniable that Penn State players are more likely than not more acclimatized to this kind of weather than SMU's. Saturday is set to be a cold day, with the highest expected temperature being 25 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 13 degrees.
