Who is the celebrity guest performer for Fox Sports 'Big Noon Kickoff' Week 2?
Fox Sports' "Big Noon Kickoff" is traveling to Ann Arbor over the weekend to cover the pre-game festivities ahead of college football's Week 2 matchup between the Michigan Wolverines and Texas Longhorns. The show is bringing along a lineup of celebrity guests headlined by former New York Yankees captain and MLB Hall of Famer Derek Jeter and Texas movie star Matthew McConaughey.
Alongside them, Moneybagg Yo will be performing as the musical celebrity guest for the "Big Noon Kickoff". The show is set for a special three-hour edition during Week 2. Moneybagg Yo is a Grammy nominee – who hails from Memphis, Tennessee – known for his Southern-style hip-hop and melodic trap music style.
Both schools came from easy victories in Week 1. The Longhorns recorded a 52-0 shutout of the Colorado State Rams. Quarterback Quinn Ewers threw for 260 yards, with three touchdowns and one interception.
For their part, the Michigan Wolverines defeated the Fresno State Bulldogs 30-10 with their new start signal-caller Davis Warren throwing for 118 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. The true star of the game was Kalel Mullings who ran for 92 yards but achieved no score.
Both schools made it to the College Football Playoff in 2023, with the Wolverines winning the national title, while the Longhorns fell in the semifinal to Washington. However, after losing its head coach and several key pieces during the off-season Michigan isn't as highly thought of as before. Texas is currently No. 3 in the nation while Michigan is No. 10.
Is Fox Sports' Big Noon Kickoff the only show in town for Michigan vs. Texas in Week 2?
The game between the Wolverines and Longhorns is the most anticipated clash of Week 2, attracting the attention of both Fox Sports and ESPN. Alongside "Big Noon Kickoff", ESPN's "College GameDay" will also be in town for the game.
"College GameDay" is also bringing its own set of celebrity guests, with multiple-time Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps being the celebrity guest picker for the show this week. Phelps trained at Michigan between 2004 and 2008, even attending classes at the school but never pursuing any degree. Former Saturday Night Live star Will Ferrell has also been announced as a guest on the ESPN show for Week 2.
