Who is Ike Taylor’s son Ivan Taylor? All we know about 4-star safety Notre Dame commit who’s on the verge of flipping commitment

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are one of the best programs in getting recruits, but they may lose Ivan Taylor. Safety Ivan Taylor is a four-star commit to the program and the son of former Super Bowl champion Ike Taylor.

It looks like Ivan Taylor may be playing for a different program entirely. On3's Steve Wiltfong predicts a flip to the defending national champion Michigan Wolverines could be in store. If coach Sherrone Moore could land Taylor, this could be a massive sign for the program's health post-Jim Harbaugh.

Who is Ivan Taylor?

Ivan Taylor is one of the brightest stars in the Class of 2025. According to 247 Sports, he is the 41st-best prospect in the country, the second-best safety in the class and the fifth in Florida.

According to 247 Sports' Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins, he can be a solid player at the collegiate level:

"A high-IQ safety prospect with elite NFL bloodlines and a top-flight testing profile ... Quick-footed with plenty of agility. Has spent most of prep career working in a two-deep system and has shown that he can get where he needs to be. Commpetitive at the catch point and does a nice job of turning his head to find the football."
"A sound open-field tackler at this stage that will launch at legs and get ball carries on the ground."

Taylor displayed agility when he ran track at the prep level and football. In March 2022, he ran the 100-meter dash in 11.63 seconds to showcase his blazing speed. Standing six feet tall and weighing 174 pounds, Taylor could be a star if he gains some weight, as he is a bit undersized for the next level.

However, since his senior year of high school is at West Orange in Winter Garden, Florida, Taylor could become one of the most dominant players again.
