Running back Omarion Hampton ran an impressive 137 yards but scored no touchdowns. However, that wasn't enough to push North Carolina over Georgia Tech.

Virginia in turn fell to Clemson in its last game, 48-31. Anthony Colandrea and Tony Muskett both took shots under the huddle, with 159 and 119 passing yards respectively. Each of them had two touchdown passes. The Cavaliers rushing game was poor, with only 65 yards.
