Will Johnson NFL Draft projection: Will the Michigan CB go No.1 overall in 2025?

Junior cornerback Will Johnson of the Michigan Wolverines is one of the brightest stars in the nation, but what is the likelihood that he becomes the first overall pick? Let's take a look.

Can Will Johnson go first overall in the 2025 NFL draft?

Johnson is certainly going to be one of the top players in the 2025 NFL draft class if he decides to forego his senior season and make the leap to the pros. However, having him as the top pick is not as likely as people would want to hear.

According to Pro Football Focus, Johnson allowed 28 receptions on 50 targets for 353 yards and a pair of touchdowns last season. While those numbers are very good, the ability to make catches against him is still a little too high.

Depending on the team's need, other candidates for the pick include Tennessee Volunteers defensive end James Pearce Jr. and LSU Tigers offensive tackle Will Campbell.

When will Will Johnson get drafted?

If Johnson does not become the first name off the draft boards, he does not have to wait too long as he is still seen as a likely first rounder. The quality of quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL draft class is not as good as the last draft, therefore more positions will be targeted.
