Wisconsin Badgers Transfer Portal: Top 5 CFB players to recruit for 2025 season
As transfer portal season rolls, the Wisconsin Badgers have been busy. Some of that is to be expected. After all, a 5-7 season dooms Wisconsin to an offseason without a bowl appearance for the first time since 2001. Luke Fickell's job security can't be particularly good after that shocking turnaround.
After that difficult season, the Badgers have lost a number of players (21, at last check) to the transfer portal. Meanwhile, Wisconsin has been active in finding replacements, with at least 11 new players committed to the Badgers and several more likely on the way soon.
Here are five more players the Badgers should be nabbing for 2025 and beyond.
Wisconsin Badgers Transfer Portal: 5 players to recruit
5. Duce Robinson, USC
Robinson has plenty of size (6-foot-6), plenty of talent (five-star recruit), but has lagged in production. A change of scenery to a school where he can use his physical edge on the outside could make a big difference.
Robinson has 39 catches for 747 yards in two seasons but could replicate those numbers in one season at Camp Randall.
4. Jordan Dwyer, Idaho
Dwyer is the rarest of talents as a proven quality at receiver. He went from 12 to 20 to 78 catches in his three years at Idaho. Dwyer recorded 1,192 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2024. He's got two years of eligibility left and won't be a stranger to catching the football in cold weather. He's a day-one guy.
3. Fa'alili Fa'amoe, Washington State
A two-year starter at tackle for Washington State, Fa'amoe is the kind of next-level athlete who can be a difference-maker. He arrived at Washington State as a defensive lineman but switched to offense and showed impressive athleticism and blocking talent. He could help solidify a sometimes balky Wisconsin offense in 2025.
2. Kameron Olds, Kent State
If a 5-7 season was bad, what about 0-12? That's what Kameron Olds just saw at Kent State. Olds is a solid edge rusher, a position in which Wisconsin has lost some depth. They finished 17th in the Big Ten in sacks last season.
Playing at Kent State, Olds had 42 tackles, seven tackles for loss and six sacks. He's a one-and-done guy but could add some heat to the Wisconsin pass rush.
1. Josh Thompson, Northwestern
Thompson is a highly regarded interior offensive lineman who is transferring from Northwestern. Wisconsin didn't play badly in the interior line in 2024. But the Badgers' identity as a strong, physical team could use a boost. Thompson, a two-year starter, is a big mauling blocker familiar with the Big Ten and the cold weather. He's a day-one fit.
