What is Absolute Batman about?
The upcoming DC comic will be written by Scott Snyder with art done by Nick Dragotta and will be a brand new take on the DC's iconic Dark Knight. The book aims to shake the status quo of the character and will focus on a middle-class Bruce Wayne who decides to wage his war on crime in the city.
Alongside that, the book will also feature Alfred, but not as Bruce Wayne's butler, but rather a grizzled old MI6 agent and mercenary as well. The official synopsis of the book as per DC Comics reads as:
"Absolute Batman will center on a young Bruce Wayne who is scrappy, bulky and without the generational wealth that he’s commonly associated with. This Bruce is an engineer with a passion for fixing problems in his city. And Snyder and Dragotta’s reinterpretation of the Batman mythos doesn’t stop there. Our good friend Alfred Pennyworth is now a grizzled former MI6 agent and mercenary who isn’t afraid to kick some butt and doesn’t always see eye-to-eye with Gotham’s new vigilante."
The book will be a part of the new Absolute titles
However, it's not just Batman who will be getting the Absolute treatment, rather characters like Wonder Woman and Superman are set to get their own ongoings too that will be a part of DC's All In initiative.
Absolute Wonder Woman will be coming from writer Kelly Thompson and artist Hayden Sherman who aim to shake the status quo of the character and it releases on October 23, 2024. The official synopsis reads as:
"For Diana, there is no island paradise, no sisterhood to shape her, nor a mission of peace—so what is the purpose of an Amazon warrior in this new universe?"
Absolute Superman comes from writer Jason Aaron and artist Rafa Sandoval with the first issues releasing on November 6, 2024. The official synopsis reads as:
"This Superman has no family, no Fortress of Solitude, and no home. Will he still stand for truth and justice in this new universe?"
