Absolute Batman’s latest artwork drop suggests a functional logo is on the horizon, leaving fans eager for more

Absolute Batman is set to hit comic book stands on October 9, 2024, and fans are certainly intrigued to see what the upcoming book has in store for the Dark Knight. Written by Scott Snyder with art by Nick Dragotta, this new Batman storyline will shake up the status quo of the character and will be one of the first major ongoing series of DC's upcoming All-In initiative as well.

While Absolute Batman has already caused some controversy among the fanbase with its big logo, fans now have a clearer idea of why it looks the way it does. As per new preview pages, this new Batman logo turns into a massive battle axe, teasing a functional bat symbol that will certainly help the Dark Knight during action as well.

Naturally, getting to see what the purpose of the new logo is now, fans are left eager, wanting to see more from this new version of Batman.

"How can y’all see this Art, and NOT be hyped For Absolute Batman…like HOW," said one enthusiastic fan.

He then replied to another user, saying:

““The logo looks stupid” Folks don’t know we’re actually getting a FUNCTIONAL LOGO.”
"Comics not even out yet and he’s already got infinite aura," said another fan.

Many fans reacted to the emblem with major excitement. Those who were skeptical before about the logo came around to it once they saw that it could transform into an axe.

"Yeah, I was kinda skeptical and wasn't a huge fan of the emblem until I saw IT WAS A GODDAMN AXE. Most f****n heavy metal s**t ever, can't wait," exclaimed one fan.
"I'm definitely hyped for Absolute Batman i mean it's @Ssnyder1835 how can you not be and the art by Nick Dragotta is fantastic BUT I'm just not a fan of the HUGE bat logo in general it does look better in some interiors & i will say the fact it turns into an AXE IS F*****G DOPE," said another fan.
"A massive, tanky, working-class city engineer Bruce Wayne who carries a gigantic heavy weapon? sign. me. up.," wrote another excited fan.
"I usually really dislike when Bruce is super buff but I cannot get over the symbol being an axe that’s just so f-ing good," shared another fan.

What is Absolute Batman about?

Absolute Batman is a brand new Batman comic book series that is written by Scott Snyder with artwork by Nick Dragotta. The book will be a part of DC's upcoming All In initiative. This new series will tell a brand new Dark Knight story that will challenge the status quo of who Bruce Wayne is and present brand new origins to define this iteration of the character.

The comic will feature a Bruce Wayne who doesn't have any of his riches—butlers, high-tech gadgets, and more—but will rather see him as an ordinary working-class citizen. The official synopsis as per DC comics reads as:

"In this iteration, fans will be introduced to a version of the Dark Knight that doesn’t have the money, mansion, or butler of his core-line counterpart."

Alongside Absolute Batman, fans will also be able to check out Absolute Wonder Woman and Absolute Superman from writers Kelly Thompson and Jason Aaron, respectively.

Absolute Batman #1 hits stores on October 9.
