What is Absolute Wonder Woman about?

Absolute Wonder Woman is a part of DC's All In initiative where classic characters are given brand new starting points so that new readers can be enticed to join in. The book comes from writer Kelly Thompson and artist Hayden Sherman who will be reinventing DC's classic warrior princess for a new age and shaking the status quo of the character in a huge way to fit this new world as well.

As per DC Comics, the official synopsis reads as:

"This Wonder Woman is reinvented from the ground up, the last of her kind, raised in Hell instead of Themyscira, and without the love and support of her Amazonian sisters. But how will the world react when it meets a woman blessed with all the gifts a princess could want—beauty, grace, wisdom, and compassion—who is also faster than a hellhound and can swing a sword like Ares?"

The book is a part of the new Absolute lineup

This new take on Wonder Woman is also a part of the new Absolute lineup launched by DC Comics. The lineup also includes titles like Absolute Batman which was released earlier this month on October 8, 2024, and Absolute Superman which is set to hit comic book stands on November 6, 2024.

Absolute Batman comes from writer Scott Snyder and artist Nick Dragotta. It focuses on a middle-class Bruce Wayne who doesn't have any of his riches and is rather an ordinary man waging his war on crime.

Absolute Superman will also focus on a brand-new version of the character who doesn't have any of his family and fortress of solitude, and it will come from writer Jason Aaron and artist Rafa Sandoval.
