DC's All In is set to introduce brand new stories and appearances for Absolute Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman
DC is set to go All In this October as a new lineup of comics with titles like Absolute Batman, Absolute Superman, and Absolute Wonder Woman will hit store shelves. Born out of this new initiative by the comic book giant, the stories will put brand new spins on classic DC comic book characters that have defined the company for a long time.
For example, in the case of Absolute Batman, it will feature a Bruce Wayne who has no wealth - a radically different interpretation of the character that seems to shake up the status quo. In a way, it is similar to what Marvel has been recently doing with their new Ultimate universe, and the titles will be spearheaded by writers like Scott Snyder, Jason Aaron, Kelly Thompson, and more.
Absolute Superman will also see a more sci-fi take on the character while Absolute Wonder Woman will focus on a character who doesn't have the same mission of peace. All of this points to reinventions of characters that will certainly be interesting to witness.
Exploring details about Absolute Batman, Absolute Superman, and Absolute Wonder Woman
Absolute Batman
Writer Scott Snyder will be returning to DC again after redefining Batman for a new generation with his New 52 comic book run on the character. One of the most celebrated Batman writers of all time, he will be joined by artist Nick Dragotta who will be helping realise his vision in Absolute Batman.
Absolute Batman will follow a version of the character who doesn't have the wealth of Bruce Wayne and any of his core counterparts. As per DC Comics, the official synopsis reads:
"In this iteration, fans will be introduced to a version of the Dark Knight that doesn’t have the money, mansion, or butler of his core-line counterpart."
Fans can check out Absolute Batman when it hits stores on October 9.
Absolute Wonder Woman
After the Dark Knight has had his status quo shaken up, it's Wonder Woman's turn to receive that same treatment. Writer Kelly Thompson, popular for helming Birds of Prey and Captain Marvel, will be joined by artist Hayden Sherman and will be reinventing the iconic superhero.
This version of Diana Prince will be all about her trying to find a purpose in the world. The official synopsis reads as follows:
"For Diana, there is no island paradise, no sisterhood to shape her, nor a mission of peace—so what is the purpose of an Amazon warrior in this new universe?"
Readers can check out the comic when it releases on October 23.
Absolute Superman
Following Absolute Batman and Absolute Wonder Woman, fans will be treated to Absolute Superman, which will be helmed by Jason Aaron. Popular for helming Avengers and Thor at Marvel Comics, Aaron will be joined by artist Rafa Sandoval who will help reinvent the Man of Steel.
This version of Superman, just like the previous two superheroes, will be stripped of his most iconic bits. The official synopsis reads:
"This Superman has no family, no Fortress of Solitude, and no home. Will he still stand for truth, justice, and a better tomorrow in this new universe?"
The book hits store shelves on November 6.
