T20 World Cup 2022: [Watch] Virat Kohli grabs one-handed stunner at long-on to dismiss Pat Cummins in warm-up game

Team India batter Virat Kohli claimed a gem of a catch at long-on to dismiss Pat Cummins in the warm-up fixture against Australia on Monday, October 17, at the Gabba, Brisbane. The former skipper's stunner in the deep changed the course of the match in the final over as India sneaked a six-run victory.

Mohammad Shami was called upon for the first time in the final over of the contest. The right-arm pacer was tasked with defending 11 runs off six deliveries. The right-arm pacer began the over with four runs off the first two deliveries as the hosts were only a couple of shots away from victory.

Cummins then proceeded to heave the third ball over long-on to seal the game. However, Kohli, who was stationed well in front of the gigantic boundary down the ground, took a couple of steps back and timed his jump to perfection. The ball stuck to his right hand and the ace player ensured that his momentum following the jump did not take him over the rope.

Cummins' wicket changed the equation to seven required off three deliveries. The Aussies had no answer to the carnage unleased by Shami, who looked in fine rhythm despite last playing a T20I game almost a year ago and recently recovering from COVID-19.

The right-arm pacer, who replaced Jasprit Bumrah in the T20 World Cup 2022 squad, finished with figures of 3-4 off his solitary over. He sealed the contest with a couple of well-executed yorkers to dismiss Josh Inglis and Kane Richardson.
