10 most embarrassing T20I records
Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle and co. boast of records that will probably never be broken for a while yet. They are ones to be savoured but then again, there are some, like Stuart Binny and Stuart Broad's, which deserve to be buried deep underground, so no one knows they exist.
So get ready for records that players and teams hoped they didn't have to their name. Records, they wish, would be erased from the face of his planet. Records, they wish, will soon be claimed by another player, so that their names no longer stand next to it.
So, here are the 10 most embarrassing T20I records.
Lowest team score
The 2014 World T20 in Bangladesh is not one that Netherlands will have too many fond memories of. For that is when they recorded the lowest team score in T20Is. In their game against Sri Lanka, they were bundled out for 39 in 10.3 overs.
Nuwan Kulasekara kicked things off with a wicket off the third ball of the match and just 10 overs after that. Of the 11 batsmen, only one managed to get into double digits and there were four ducks as well as Angelo Mathews, Ajantha Mendis and Lasith Malinga ran riot.
Not only is that the lowest team score in T20Is but it is also the shortest completed innings in terms of balls taken. It took Sri Lanka just five overs to get to the target and claim a comfortable victory.
The only saving grace for Netherlands is that their total isn't the lowest score in the history of T20s. That record belongs to Tripura who were bowled out for 30 by Jharkhand in 2009.
