    10. Disgracefully Non Sporting

Well, this incident ignited such a flame that even today two nations battle it out on the cricketing field to gain the Ashes of it. We all remember the recent spats and sledging during the Ashes but it all started way back in 1882. Sami Jones was out of his crease to pat the pitch down and W.G. Grace took the bails off and ran the batsman out. This really fumed the Australians off and they went on to win the Test with a furious approach to their bowling where they dismissed England for just 77.

     9. The Collision

In an ODI match between New Zealand and England at the Oval, the Kiwi batsman Grant Elliot took off for a single and the bolwer Ryan Sidebottom charged to grab the ball. But in the middle of the pitch both collided and both lost ground to lay flat on their backs. Meanwhile the fielders picked up the ball and ran Elliot out. After so much of discussion the English skipper Collingwood decided not to withdraw the appeal and Elliot was given out as the umpires didnt have a choice.

    8. Hurling Balls and Bats

This is the recent incident from IPL 7 which you all must be having fresh in your mind. Mitchell Strac of Royal Chalangers Bangalore bowled a fantastic bouncer to Mumbai Indians’ Kieron Pollard and followed it up with some verbal attacks, Pollard refused to buy any of his words and waved him to go back and bowl. For the next delivery Pollard decided to pull out from playing the ball well before Strac’s delivery stride, but Starc followed the batsman up and threw the ball at him which really infuriated Pollard and he hurled the bat towards the bowler and it slipped out of his gloves. Umpires intervention prevented probably an ugly brawl.

     7. Kicking it Out

In the late 70s Deniss Lillee tried to stop Miandad from taking a single, after some exchange of a few words, Miandad went to complete the single but Lillee did not stop there and kicked Javed from the back and the batsman in retaliation tried to hit Lillee but umpire prevented a full fledged street fight on the fileld.

     6. Hitting It Out With Umpire

Mike Gatting in a match in Pakistan was alleged by the umpire to have tried to move the fielder behind the batsman’s back to which Gatting reacted strongly and it all resulted in a strong heated exchange of words and pointing of the fingers which looked really bad.

     5. Chucking Choke

Umpire in Australia from square leg called a no ball of Muralitharan for chucking inspite of the fact ICC had cleared his bowling action. Captain Ranatunga tried to confront with the umpire but after some disscussion the skipper decided to walk off the field and refused to return until the decision gets reversed.

    4. Tampering Without Evidence

Darrell Hair, the Australian umpire accused the Pakistani bowlers that they have done some illegitimate things with the ball and awarded 5 penalty runs to England. After this Inzamam and co decieded not to take the field post tea break that day. Match was later abondoned and England were declared winners. Later in investigation there were no evidences found of tampering and hence Hair lost his job.

    3. Metal in Hand

Well generally batsmen are expected to have willow in their hands but Denis Lillee decided to take a aluminium bat on the field which was doing some damage to the ball. The captain of the opposition team and umpires asked him to change the bat and Lillee just threw his bat away in anger.

    2. Rolling it Off

New Zealand required 6 runs off the last ball and Greg Chappell instructed his brother Trevor who was bowling to roll the ball under-arm to the bastman so that he could not hit the ball and Trevor did the same bringing the sportsman spirit down to dirt. Batsmen couldn’t do much, he just blocked the ball and went off the field throwing his bat away. After this under arm bowling was termed illegal.

    1. A Leap Forward

This incident stunned the whole of the cricketing world. Asif and Aamir bowled the delibrate no ball with consent or say at the insistence of their captain Salman Butt in exchange of some huge sum of money.
