10PL season 3 returns with a bang
Dubai, 13 January 2019: After the rip-roaring success of the first two seasons of 10 PL, Petromann Events today announced even bigger plans for Season 3 of the world’s biggest tennis ball cricket tournament. The third season will be staged in March this year with more teams, especially from the subcontinent in what promises to be a bigger, better and bolder avataar.
In the first two years the tournament was immensely popular in the Indian subcontinent and in the GCC nations. For the last two years the tournament was staged at the historic Sharjah Cricket Stadium, thanks to the support of Mr Waleed Bukhatir.
The tournament was well supported by: Tayyarah, Inter Globe Marine, WBT Group, OOK, Nafiya, Delhi Darbar, Pacific Ventures.
The nature of the competition and the structure of the tournament even caught the attention of the brand ambassador in the first edition, Virender Sehwag. A dasher in his days, Sehwag like most from the subcontinent had started his life as a tennis ball cricketer.
In the recent years we have seen even in the Indian Premier League (IPL) a number of players like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Basil Thampi, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah amongst a whole host of others who started their careers playing tennis-ball cricket.
Even elsewhere in Pakistan the likes of Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and a host of other legends have cut their teeth playing cricket in the bylanes of their country. So it became naturally easy for Akram to become the face of the tournament in 2018.
For this year's edition teams from - India (Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Pune, Raigad, Gujarat, Hyderabad, Jharkhand, Kerala), Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Sri Lanka will be seen in action.
"There are some grand plans for the second season. We at Petromann Events are excited about the tournament this year. We are hoping to come back in a bigger way than last year. The associations that we have built will continue to aid us in our plans. In particular all the sponsors and partners that were associated with us will benefit us in a big way," said Abdul Latif Khan, promoter, Petromann Events.
The tournament has a number of outstanding features which makes it the largest global platform
· Biggest prize money for tennis ball cricket- Dhs 250,000
· International World class Venue
· Overall Reach - 14 Million Plus through TV, Print, Radio, Digital, Live Streaming
The 2019 edition will also be streamed live on YouTube and also on the official website: www.10pl.net
Due to the overwhelming demand this year the 20 teams have been divided into four groups of five each.
Around 19 international player have already voiced their support for the tournament as part of the promotional campaign.
An interesting feature like last year will be the presence of players who have represented their country at Test, ODI and T20I level or even domestic level including the likes of Kamran Khan, Umar Gul, Zahoor Khan and Amir Hayat.
In 2016 former Pakistan wicketkeeper Zulqarnain Haider featured in the competition, whereas former Sri Lanka international Thilan Thushara played for Super Fashion, Sri Lanka in 2018.
In coming days announcement about a brand ambassador for the second edition is also going to be made.
