Pujara falls short of double century; Saurashtra post 570 against Gujarat

Saurashtra were ultimately bowled out for a massive score of 570 runs against the defending champions Gujarat. Riding on Cheteshwar Pujara's 183 and Snell Patel's 156. Both the batsmen were unbeaten at the end of last day, however, Patel wasn't able to trouble the scorers on the second day and got out early. On the other hand, Pujara, who looked set for a double century was trumped by Siddharth Desai halfway through the second session.

In reply, Gujarat had scored 45/0 by the end of day's play, still 525 runs behind Saurashtra's score.

Assam stretch Uttar Pradesh on the second day

Courtesy Saurabh Kumar and Upendra Yadav's hard-fought centuries, UP had posted 349 runs on the board which at first looked good enough for a first-innings lead. However, their inability to pick wickets at regular intervals on the second day meant Assam crawled their way to 279/6 by the end of day's play.

Sibsankar Roy was the star for the home team in Guwahati as his 72-run innings and a crucial partnership with Amit Sinha. For UP, Saurabh Kumar yet again shone and bagged four wickets, one of them of Roy.

Stuart Binny continues his good run with the bat as Karnataka post a huge 1st innings total

Karnataka were in a commanding position by the end of first day with Mayank Agarwal and Manish Pandey going strong. However, both the batsmen lost their wickets without troubling the score much today. Binny then played an important innings of 118 and along with Shreyas Gopal (92) helped Karnataka post a massive total of 649.

In reply, Delhi had managed 20/0 by the end of day's play.

Vijay Shankar and Baba Aparajith score a ton each as TN declare on 530

Starting off from his overnight score of 8, Vijay Shankar went on to slam a hundred and was involved in a 177-run fifth wicket stand with Baba Aparajith. The latter himself played a patient 109-run knock and helped his side to an imposing first innings score at Cuttack.

Odisha, in reply, managed a score of 36/0 by the end of day's play.
