The cricket World Cup is just a few months away. It is a dream of every cricketer that they get a chance to show their prowess in the greatest event of the sport. This year the World Cup will be hosted by England and Wales. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is the 12th edition of the Cricket World Cup, scheduled to be from 30 May to 14 July 2019.

Currently, the Indian selectors are in search for the right squad for the event. They are trying various permutations and combinations so that they can get the best playing XI for the World Cup. There are just two or three spots left in the squad to be filled by the rightly deserving players.

India team has an urgent requirement for a stable middle order. The team needs players who could help the team in a dire situation when they have lost early wickets. There are various senior players and youngsters who are in the contest for the role. The senior players probably have their last chance to fulfill their World Cup dream because of their age.

They would have to do everything in their power to fulfill that dream. Their performances in the next couple of ODI series would decide their role in the team for the world cup. Here are the 3 Indian players who will have their last chance to fulfill their World Cup dream.

#3 Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh Karthik found a new lifeline when he played a crucial role in the Nidahas Trophy, where he scored 29 runs off 8 balls in the final to clinch the trophy. Karthik finished the game by hitting a flat six off Soumya Sarkar.

Karthik found his form in 2017 when he finished as the highest run-getter in the Vijay Hazare trophy. He was awarded an international call for his performance in the series. He was also excellent as a finisher for Kolkata Knight Rider in the IPL. He scored 498 runs at a strike rate of 147.77 for KKR, which helped them to reach the qualifiers.

Karthik needs to show consistency as a finisher if he wants to fit into the World Cup squad. He also has to play one big innings for the team to prove himself. He has been constantly getting out in the twenties and thirties which has not helped his case. Karthik has enough ODIs to seal his spot and play for the last time for his team in the World Cup.
