3 instances of 2 batters scoring a hundred in Men's T20Is ft. Sanju Samson & Tilak Varma

Scoring a hundred in a T20 is difficult for any batter. The entire team gets only 120 balls in a T20I innings, so the chances of an individual getting to triple figures are pretty low. Fans have even started considering the 30-run mark as a decent milestone for a batter in T20s.

However, some batters have managed to score centuries in the shortest format. Such batters showed no mercy to the bowlers and helped their teams post grand totals on the board.

While it is challenging for a batter to score a century in a T20 innings, there have been three instances of two batters recording a hundred each in the same men's T20I innings.

Here's a list of those three instances.

#1 Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma - India

The first Indian pair to achieve this feat are Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma. The two batters registered a ton each while playing for the Men in Blue in a bilateral T20I against South Africa last night at The Wanderers Stadium.

Samson recorded two ducks in his last two innings, while Varma had scored a century in his previous outing. Samson returned to form with a phenomenal knock of 109 runs off just 56 balls. He opened the batting for India and remained unbeaten till the end, smashing six fours and nine sixes.

Meanwhile, Varma continued his top form from the last match and raced to an inbeaten 120 off just 47 deliveries. He set a new record for the highest individual score by an Indian away from home in T20Is. Varma and Samson added 210 runs for the second wicket, helping India post 283/1 on the board in 20 overs.

#2 Sabawoon Davizi and Dylan Steyn - Czech Republic

The first pair of batters to record twin centuries in the same men's T20I innings was Sabawoon Davizi and Dylan Steyn. The two achieved the unique feat while playing for the Czech Republic in a Valletta Cup match against Bulgaria on May 12, 2022.

Davizi and Steyn opened the batting for the Czechs and forged a magnificent 220-run partnership in 18 overs. While Steyn lost his wicket for 106 runs off 55 balls, Davizi remained not out till the end of the innings, finishing with 115 runs off 59 deliveries.

The Czech Republic won that game by 88 runs.

#3 Lachlan Yamamoto-Lake and Kendel Kadowaki-Fleming - Japan

The Japanese duo of Lachlan Yamamoto-Lake and Kendal Kadowaki-Fleming destroyed the Chinese bowling attack in an East Asia Cup match played earlier this year on February 15.

They opened the innings for Japan and remained not out throughout the 20 overs, taking the total to 258 for the loss of no wickets. Lachlan top-scored with an unbeaten 68-ball 134, while his partner Kendel finished with 109* off 53 balls.

Both batters majorly dealt in sixes only. Lachlan smacked eight fours and 12 sixes, and Kendel hit three fours and 11 sixes. Japan won that game by a huge margin of 180 runs.
