3 records Rohit Sharma made during his 86-run knock vs Pakistan at the 2023 ODI World Cup

Indian captain Rohit Sharma continued his ominous form with the bat as he struck a wonderful 86 in India's dominating win over Pakistan in Match 12 of the ongoing ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023.

In front of a brimming Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Rohit dished out another batting masterclass as his half-century helped India pocket the win by a margin of seven wickets and 117 balls in hand.

A collective bowling performance did half of the job for India as they bundled out Pakistan for a low score of 191. Despite Pakistan looking set for a big total with their score reading at 155/2 one time, the visitors endured a collapse and lost eight of their last wickets in just 36 runs.

In reply, Rohit's innings made a mockery of the target as he plundered 86 runs off just 63 balls. He took on the Pakistani pace attack of Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali, and Haris Rauf and smashed them with utter disdain.

Despite losing Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli inside the first ten overs, Rohit charged his way to a 36-ball 50 before unsettling the spin duo of Shadab Khan and Mohammed Nawaz with timely boundaries.

The Indian skipper's innings came to an end when he mistimed an off-cutter from Shaheen and was holed out at short mid-wicket. While he missed out on a much-deserving century, his knock was worth its weight in gold.

En route to his knock, Rohit Sharma made a handful of records as well. Here is a compilation of three of them:
