With the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction soon approaching, there is constant discussion about which players each franchise should target to strengthen their squads.
Among the several key aspects for a side is having an experienced Indian fast bowler, who can lead the pace attack and guide the youngsters coming in as well. With many Indian fast bowlers in the players list for the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction, teams are certain to engage in bidding wars.
One such name is that of Mohammed Siraj, who is now an all-format bowler for India as well. Ahead of the 2025 season, Siraj was released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), a move that surprised many, as he was among those expected to be retained by the franchise.
Mohammed Siraj has played 93 IPL matches so far, having picked up 93 wickets at an economy rate of 8.65. He also brings international experience to the table.

#3 Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Although released by RCB ahead of the 2025 season, there is a possibility that the franchise might opt to utilize the Right to Match (RTM) option to bring Siraj back into the team.
Siraj has been a part of RCB since 2018 and gradually became one of the core players of the team. He had his best IPL season in 2023 where he picked up 19 wickets.
Given his previous experience of having played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium and deep-rooted understanding of the franchise where he has spent seven seasons, RCB should look to bring Siraj back into their squad.
#2 Lucknow Super Giants
Among Lucknow Super Giants' retentions for the 2025 season are two young Indian pacers Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan. Mayank is known for his fiery pace but fitness has been his major concern, which ruled him out of the last season as well.
Mohammed Siraj could fit in well in this team, given the international experience he brings along with his experience of having played several IPL seasons. The Super Giants have lacked an experienced Indian pacer and Siraj could perfectly fit the bill.
Moreover, his presence could also benefit the likes of Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan, whom he can guide and groom while leading the pace attack.
#1 Gujarat Titans
Gujarat Titans have not retained a single fast bowler ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. They will certainly be in the hunt for quality pacers after letting go of the likes of Mohammed Shami, Mohit Sharma, and Umesh Yadav.
While they could use their RTM option to bring either of these pacers back, they will still need to add more to their arsenal. Assuming they bring Shami back, having two India international pacers in the squad will bolster their attack.
Additionally, Gujarat Titans coach Ashish Nehra has previously worked with Siraj during his time as coach at RCB, which also adds to the understanding they would share.
