Ishwar Pandey was bought for whopping 1.5 crores from his base price of 10 lakhs by the Chennai Super Kings during the IPL 7 Auction.

Hailing from Madhya Pradesh, the medium pacer broke the headlines when he was acquired by the Chennai Super Kings for 1.5 crores after intense bidding between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians.

He was always on the verge of a national call-up due to his swinging abilities. He seemed to be the solution for India's never-ending bowling woes and was greatly lauded for his in-swingers.

Over time, he became Chennai Super Kings' opening bowler. Although he had great variations, he never seemed to trouble the batsmen. He was a very economical but not a wicket-taking bowler.

The tall and lanky pacer couldn't be relied upon in crunch situations and also he did not seem to justify the price at which the Chennai Super Kings bought him. He got to play a total of 10 matches where he took 11 wickets at an economy of 7.67.

He was bought by the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant in the 2016 IPL auction where he did not get a single game to prove his worth. Due to lack of wicket-taking abilities, he went unsold in the 2018 IPL auction.
