3 young talents who could be future stars of Indian cricket
It's safe to say Indian cricket team's future is in safe hands. With such a huge population and a huge number of kids playing cricket in India, there is always a healthy competition between young players for spots in the Indian cricket team.
Every other kid wants to play cricket for their nation and wants to prove their talent on the big stage. But there are certain players who get their chance at a young age to show a glimpse of their talent while playing for the nation in the under-19 tournaments.
Last year, Indian Under-19 side won the ICC Under-19 World Cup. Obviously, the whole squad contributed to the success of the team but there some standout performers who made the oppositions pay and even got the chance to play in the IPL last season.
We shall look at these 3 players who have the potential to be the superstars and play for the nation in the near future:
#1 Prithvi Shaw
Prithvi Shaw was the captain of the Under-19 side that won the World Cup in 2018. He led the side from the front and kept them motivated and hungry for success which resulted in his side lifting the ICC under-19 World Cup at the end of the tournament.
He also started the innings as an opener with the bat and made sure he didn't put the pressure on the middle order. He made a total of 261 runs in 5 innings at an average of 65.25.
He was then bought by Delhi Daredevils in the IPL auction and made an instant impact there too. He scored 245 runs in 9 innings at an excellent strike rate of 153.12.
He then made his Indian debut against West Indies in their home Test series and became the youngest player to ever score a 100 in his debut as he made 134 runs in that innings.
All in all, he looks like the future of the Indian team and is one of the most gifted players who can adapt to any situation and can score runs consistently.
