4 Indian origin cricketers who have found success in other countries
It is certainly a well-known fact that the family lines in India seem to be flowing with cricketing genes. Millions of people do not merely follow the sport, as many even play this sport in the country, with a hope to represent the nation someday.
In the domestic arena, there are tons of excellent cricketers at multiple stages, who are only a few good games away from knocking on the doors of international cricket.
However, some of the cricketing talents have recently begun to migrate to other nations for their enthusiasm for sport owing to the stiff competition and limited opportunities. It has benefited countries like the UAE, Oman, the United States, Canada and many others.
Besides that, there are also a number of Indian-origin players, who have moved or otherwise been brought up in another country and a handful of them have also achieved great success.
Here are four such players, who can trace their roots back to India but have charted out a career in their country of residence.
#4 Hashim Amla
Hashim Amla has been one of the standouts of South African cricket in the past few years and is one of the country's best batsmen, averaging close to 50 in ODI cricket and 46.41 in test cricket.
The Mighty Hash also became the first permanent non-white test captain of South Africa. Amla has enjoyed a terrific run in India, where he is averaging 63 in test cricket, a particularly strong record amongst his other stunning records.
Very few know that Hashim Amla belongs to a Muslim family which moved from Surat, Gujarat, to South Africa. His ancestors are believed to have lived in the Haripura region of Surat.
