IPL: 4 stars who have faded away from memory

With money splashing around, with sponsors bending head over heels to be associated with the league, with players making a beeline to grab a bite of the apple, there is so much the Indian Premier League has done not only for Indian cricket but for players from across the globe.

However, when the glitz and glamour subsides, it is, after all, a clash between bat and ball. It is about players forgetting all the distractions and putting their best foot forward when the game begins and this is where few of them lose track of reality after few inspiring performances.

Here, in this article, we take a look at four such players who shot to prominence and then quickly slid down a slippery slope, never to be heard of again!

#4 Swapnil Asnodkar

The diminutive opener walked out to bat alongside a strapping Graeme Smith back when Rajasthan Royals won the title in 2008, and then again in 2009.

However, despite being one of the brighter prospects in the league, Asnodkar's game was always going to blow hot and cold and unfortunately for the Goan, his game slipped off pretty quickly and he moved out of contention for any of the franchises.

He did play first-class cricket for Goa but never attracted any interest from IPL teams after the first couple of years which is a crying shame.

To make matters worse, he was embroiled in a match-fixing scandal and although his name was cleared, the shores have never been the same for the young man.
