4 players who might surprisingly find themselves in India's World Cup 2019 squad

England v India: Final - ICC Champions Trophy
Ashwin hasn't played a limited overs game since the Champions Trophy final

The Indian Premier League(IPL) fever has surrounded the nation, the one and a half month long festival is the biggest cricketing event of the year but amidst all the madness the International Cricket Council(ICC) has announced the schedule for the 2019 World Cup which is slated to be held in England.

The World Cup will begin on May 30 when hosts England take on the Proteas at The Oval. The Indian side will begin its campaign on June 5 against South Africa in Southampton. The teams get four years to build a stable side for the World Cup. During this time, a lot of chopping and changing takes place in every side.

A few Indian players will be excluded from the team for the 2019 World Cup and a few of them will be surprisingly included in the side. Let us take a look at four players who might surprisingly get a chance in the 2019 World Cup.

#4 Ravichandran Ashwin

India's premier test spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been under the hammer after the 2017 Champions Trophy. Ashwin along with his counterpart Ravindra Jadeja were integral members of the Indian limited overs squad till the Champions Trophy final last year. The duo found themselves out for the next series as two wrist spinners were called up to the side.

Since then, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have produced magic with the ball in tough and testing conditions, batsmen have failed to read both of them and the spin twins have created a lot of trouble for the oppositions. Ashwin looked off-colour in the Champions Trophy final where he angled the ball into the batsman at a quick pace without any spin on the ball.

After having a poor few months the off-spinner decided to try something new. Ashwin added leg-spin to his armoury. In the ongoing IPL, the KXIP skipper has been bowling both off-spin and wrist spin. He also has various variations like the carrom ball and the flipper. The all-rounder has also worked on his batting and is a strong contender to make a comeback into the Indian squad.
