Australians are known to dominate wherever they play. Many of the IPL franchises trusted the capability and experience of the Aussies, and gave them the responsibility of leading their side.
Aussies are known for their attacking mind set, and their ability to read the game. They play attacking cricket, and produce favourable results more often than not. Even the likes of Glenn Maxwell got an opportunity to lead KXIP because of his attacking mind set.
Aussies are never boring as skippers, they usually set aggressive fields, and do not back off from exchanging a word or two with the opponent.
Here are 5 Aussies who turned out to be successful skippers in the IPL:
#5. George Bailey

The right-handed middle order batsman from Tasmania captained the Australian side in absence of Michael Clarke. He made his IPL debut playing for the Chennai Super Kings under the captaincy of M.S. Dhoni. Later in his career, he joined the Kings XI Punjab and was assigned as captain in the year 2014.
Bailey doesn't possess a typical Aussie mind set, he doesn't get into on field banters. He is a cool customer, and puts a lot of thinking into his field sets. He is someone who believes in unorthodox field sets, and Punjab needed exactly a man of that sort.
2014 turned out to be a great year for KXIP, they topped the group table with ease and made it to the finals, losing to KKR in a cracker of a contest. This was the first and the only time KXIP reached the finals of the IPL.
Under Bailey, KXIP didn't look the same side as they looked in IPL 2013, they played a very attacking brand of cricket and looked invincible in most parts of the tournament. In 2014, they won 11 out of the 14 games they played, and topped the table with ease.
